thank you for all your advice yesterday.
i telephoned the midwife yesterday afternoon and she agreed to come round to mine this morning. first try and she found a heartbeat that was loud and clear. she was really nice today and made me feel so much better.
i did say before she scanned me "i need a wee", she told me not to go to the toilet as a full bladder pushes baby to the front so makes in easier to hear - funny as yesterday i was asked to take a urine sample to the doctors and wee'd just before my appt! just thought that might be a tip for anybody in the same position.

thank you for your help

Hiya

sorry i missed your last post. glad everything is ok. when m/w checked for h/b at 14 weeks and 4 days she did say it was up to me if i wanted her to cos if it cant be heard it makes women worry which is obviously what your m/w has done with you. by the sounds of it she wasnt very reasurring. glad everything is ok now tho. now you mention the bladder thing, well she did have a bit of trouble finding h/b at first and i had just been for a wee. when i went at 15 week and 4 days i ad a full bladder and h/b was found straight away.
i have a doppler, i do listen to bump often. if you do get one, thay are a fab thing to have but for the first couple of times it may take a while to get used to exactly where to find h/b so dont panic if takes a few practices to find it. some find it straight away tho. first time took me about 20 mins, now i can get it within seconds. great thing to have.
