i have been told my manager may call me today to see how i am now and let me know what may happen but i have heard nothing so i will see how docs goes and then i will call her to let her know what the outcome is.

do you know if an issue like this can still be dealt with whilst i am off work ie can i be called in for meetings ect if iam am signed off work??

Im really sorry hun, thats sounds awful!!
I was having problems at work and suffering really badly from Sciatica, and went to the Doctors and got signed off for a week, so unless you have a really mean doctor I dont see why you shouldnt be signed off (and go to the Doctor not your midwife as midwives cant sign you off)

Just be aware tho, as soon as I got signed off for a week, my work sent me a letter saying that i would only get statutory sick pay which is about 79 quid a week!! So I couldnt take anymore time off even if I needed too, as I cant afford it!!
But the week off did the world of good...
Good Luck, let us know how it goes and I really wouldnt stand for your supervisor talking or shouting at you like that, speak to some-one with a higher authority!!
Hope this helps

Aaargh!!

Just visiting from B&T, hope you don't mind me butting in but this kind of thing makes me so mad! Your HR department should be looking at seriously disciplining your supervisor and I would put a complaint in writing if I was you, she has no right to speak to you like that and should be doing everything she can to make life easier for you not harder. Your workplace has a duty of care to protect you and your baby and leave themselves open to legal action if they don't, let me know if you want me to do some digging for info on your exact rights so you can quote it at them if you have to fight your corner. As for the docs (it is the doc you need to see not the midwife) I shouldn't think you'll have any trouble getting signed off if you're still in this much of a state by the time you go and for me the thought of having to go into work tomorrow would be enough to guarantee that. Don't put up with it though hun, you and your baby deserve better and your workplace is not legally allowed to put you both at risk by stressing you out like this. PM me anytime if you need any help with anything, big hugs hun.

Love, Clare and Kaitlyn (1 next week!) xxxx

Poor you!

You will only be signed off if you ask and tell them why... You are stressed out of your head and had a huge argument and you can feel your stress levels rising....sounds like you had a bit of a panic attack, it's not good for the baby. Think of number 1 and 2.

You will never get brownie points at work for going in ill.... It sounds like you are run down too, stress will take it's toll on your state of health. Simple fact is that this is no good for you in your condition!! Get signed off for a while and see if it settles. Well done for going to HR. Hopefully it won't be the first complaint against the neurotic cow - lol!

TC and don't feel guilty for looking after yourelf and the baby-if that means being signed off!!
