Hey x
Hey guys thanks for your replys,
I ended up being admitted to hospital because my consultant wanted me to have a full MOT. I had an ECG on my heart cause my heart rate was really high, i had a chest x ray and saw the Registrar on the ward who checked me out. Basically i gotta take one day at a time and see if i get any better. Im on day 4 of my steroids now and am still pretty bad, thought i was feelin a bit better and went into town to do some shopping and really struggled. My consultant said depending on how i go i may need an induction, but he wouldnt even consider it before 37-38 weeks, ( which i wouldnt want her to come before that anyway, i would rather struggle). So just taking it a day at a time now and see what happens, The midwife thought that they would want me to try and give birth naturally rather that a C- section, then if i really struggle in labour then obviuosly have one if necessary.
I dont really want a C-Section if i can help it but just will have to see how things go x x

Bad asthma been in hospital all day!!
Hey guys x
well for the past 2 weeks i have had really severe asthma, to the point where i cant sleep, i dread having to go to the toilet and climb the stairs!! I was diagnosed with a chest infection 2 weeks ago, had antibiotics for that but dont seem to have got any better, been to A&E twic in the last week, so when i went for my growth scan today i spoke to consultant, he admitted me, i had chest x ray, and man y other things including an ECG tracing of my heart cause my heart rate was very fast, i was given a full MOT!!
Basically i am now on steroids for a week to try and build up my lungs. The consultant wants to keep an eye on me and there is talk of possible induction of labour at 37-38 weeks if i dont get anybetter.
Im just really worried bout being able to push this baby out when i cant even walk to the kitchen and make myself a cup of tea!!
anyway just wondred if anyone knows anyone who has had severe athma and had a baby???
and by the way they have said my baby is 6lb already!!! i know they can be wrong but still worried that im gonna have a Massive baby!!!

Struggling
Hi Laura, Sounds like you're having a really rough time of it. I have bad asthma and have really been struggling lately. I had what i thought was a cold for 3 weeks turned out it was a chest infection. My dr has mentioned i might need toup my meds over winter to help keep it under control. Have the dr's mentioned any other way of helping you in labour or even a section?
Keeping everything crossed for you x x

I have
Hi ya,
I have bad asthma and have had it for years but gets alot worse when pregnant, once you get the steroids in your lungs you will feel a huge improvement, i have to take my ventoline 8x per day whethet i need to or not, i have to take steroids 2x a day and a long serving serervant 2x per day, i had my 1st baby normal delivery and had no problem my 2 girls were by emergency c section and this baby will be by section but not because of my asthma. The steriods take about 1 week to get into your system, try not to worry just take your inhalers and im sure your be fine.
Take care

Were in the same boat!!
Hi Laura,
Sounds like were in the same boat, only i have not been offcially diagnosed with asthma, i have been having "attacks" and needing inhalers since before pregnacy and now have a spirometry test on the 22nd of Dec to determin for sure if it's asthma.
2 weeks ago i was admitted to hospital for a week with an acute respitory infrction, having taking myself off to A&E 3 time in 24hrs needing nebulizers as my inhalers were doing nothing to help my breathing (i couldn't even hold a 30 second conversation let alone try to explain my self to the docs in a&e OH had to do it for me!) I also had a ECG but no x-ray, was on a course of steriods and anitbiotics, quite high doseage too, the midwives at the hospital came to check on me every day, and i too have been measured big, and was told at a scan when i was 30 + 6 she approx 2.01kgs (4 1/2lb ) and had a 32 + 5 maturity size so it looks like i will be having a bruiser!
I am now 37 + 1 and my little girl is putting alot of pressure on my lungs, stomach and bladder i dread night time (hence the timing of this post i have been tossing and turning, sitting up and laying back down for hours now, and have given up, sleep is not happening!) as when i do try to lay down i either cannot breath, need to wee or be sick,
and
i too worry about pushing her out, what if i cannot breath correctly and push at the wrong times! i too would like to hear from someone with the same issue,
