4d scans

Hi Ladies

Hope you are all well.

I think someone has posted about 4d scans before but i couldn't remember what was said.

Has anyone had a 4d scan and would like consider it as worth it? I really want one but they are a lot of money in my area.

When is the best time to go for one? I am just over 23 weeks now.

Hi I had a 4d scan with my second baby and thought it was lovely. The place I had mine done does them from I think 28 - 34 weeks I was about 30 weeks, they look around in 'normal scan mode' and then when the baby is in a good position they switch to 4d, I got some really lovely pictures with mine, as it's private you (or at least where I went did) book like an hour slot so if the baby isn't in a good position you have a walk round etc and they will keep trying til you get some nice views. Also it's good as they check the outline of the baby to check it's skin etc and apparently can possibly detect certain problems that a normal scan wouldn't. I know it's a lot of money but I am going to have one again this pregnancy, it's amazing how much you actually get to see, you can really see what your baby is going to look like.

Although i booked a sexing scan in general i managed to see baby in 4d also as it was part of the bundle i got. I only got 2 pictures and i think the best time is between 26-28 wks i think it was. To tell you the truth i do think 4d is great but unless you know for sure your baby is in a good position before then it might be abit of a waste of money. I could only see half of my lil girls face because of the position she was in and wouldnt budge Luckily the 4d was at no real extra cost (i paid £75 to find out sex, see her in general and get more pics and then get pics in 4d IF she was in a good position).

Its completely up to you but if your baby is not in a suitable position it may be hard to get good pics, although some places do offer you to go back a second time free of charge or until they manage to get good pics.

I am all excited about getting one now. Don't think i can wait another 17 weeks before i meet the little monster.

I hear from others they are quite good where i live if baby isn't in a good position as they let you go back.

I just need to work out when to go for one.
