Hi Sue,

I used to boil the kettle, let it stand for the 1/2 hour, then make all the bottles up for the next day complete with milk, then put them in the fridge to be warmed when needed. It only took 3 mins to get milk to correct temp when heating with boiled water in a jug. I was told my the HV not to do this but it did not do Emily any harm and its a whole lot easier than doing as you go.

Everyone finds their own way of doing these things, but i will be doing it this way again with this one.

Hi suzanne

We started off by filling all the bottles with boiled water, adding milk and refridgerate then heat up when needed. They keep for 24 hours.

We then just refridgerated the bottles of water adding milk and heating when needed.

The quickest way we have found is filling the bottles three quaters and refridgerate. When needed we add the last quater with fresh boiling water and the milk. Its never too hot or too cold.

You will find your way.

Hey hun

Ive just poped over from B&T.

What I do is I sterilize Archies 5 Big bottles for his milk and 1 smaller bottle for his water in the evening about 7pm. I fill and boil a kettle, then once the kettle has cooled a bit I fill all the bottles with required amount of water and leave them out on the side for the next day, then as and when I need them I add the required amount of powder and either feed at room temp or heat up. I find this a much easier way of doing it rather then boiling a kettle every time you need to make a bottle, you'll find you'll have a very angry baby if they've got to wait for the water to cool!!

Also, we were advised by our Health Visitors to NOT heat every bottle and to feed some at room temp, this way if your ever anywhere where you cant warm the bottle your baby wont play up coz its not warm.

I hope this has been of some help xx

Hey

i leave water to cool make them up stick them in fridge not on door and then heat up when i need one done this with all my other 3 so will do this again was told not to make them up and leave on side as milk goes off if not in fridge xxx

Hey

I dont make them up with the milk in the and leave them on the side. Just the cooled boiled water. Powder is added when we need a bottle. HV said this is fine as water doesnt go off.

Adele

Hi adele

see this is what I wonder so you make the bottles up, cool them.. but then when you add the milk when you need it, how would the milk powder add.. because its like adding coffee to cold water.. so do you warm bottle up again, then add milk????

Hey hun

I make my 5 bottles up every evening with 8oz of cooled boiled water.
I leave these just out on the work top overnight.
Then when I need to feed, I add the milk powder which in my case is 8 scoops.
I then shake the bottle well, the powder will mix with the water fine so dont worry.
I then feed it at room temp or warm it up.
In my case, nothing goes in the fridge, but thats just my choice.

I hope this has helped xx
