Hi sue

I had really bad heartburn throughout my pregnancy. Some nights it was so bad I used to cry!! Gaviscon wouldnt even work!!

One night - I had a craving for jelly (and had heartburn) and it sounds so daft but the jelly actually gave me some reprieve from the heartburn!! So during the day I used to drink lots of milk (they say it doesnt help with heartburn but it did help me) and then at night, I would have jelly. You can by the hartley's ready made.

God luck

Well.....

Well in the beginning i had REAL bad heartburn, then second trimester it died down alot and now ive noticed it again but not always. To tell you the truth i know there are some things that aggrevate it more such as eating something with alot of tomato sauce etc. What seems to help me is the gaviscon tablets, thats what i have been taking when it gets bad, also chamomille tea helps me quite alot and im actually finding that rlt is helping me also. There are times when i may have a gaviscon tablet and it will stop working in a short time but if i take another its bound to help and get rid of it.

It might be a case of trying things out, with me its firstly chamomille tea and then i will take a gaviscon tablet, its like a routine lol

Hiya

luckily im not quite there with the heartbearn, (hope i dont get there lol) but when my friend was pg she suffered something cronic and she found the only thing that would help was rennie chews. nothing else worked. i did suffer heartburn just b4 i was pg and i tried everything, gaviscon, rennie you name it and i found the only thing that worked was asda own brand.
i think it may be something you have to try a few things and see which works for you. apparantly swallowing chalk is supposed to work, never tried it cos to be honest not really sure how to go about it. dont know if you swallow with water or not lol.
good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I was exactly the same, I was swigging it all day!! Didnt do Archie any harm except now hes on it 5 times a day for reflu!!! lol I dont think its connected tho.
Have you tried milk? That helps some people?

Hey hun

Before you try anything other medicine other then Gaviscon I would just give your GP a ring to make sure its ok to take, just to be on the safe side xx
