Baby's weight.....

Hi Ladies and bumps

Me and my friend who is also pregnant with her first were talking about what we think our babies will weigh at birth. From what i have heard some of it depends on what the parents weighed at birth. This scares me slightly as both me and my husband were big babies i was 9lb something and my husband 10lb Ive always said that i think although i havent got the biggest bump what i do have is all baby and im slightly worried now that this baby is going to be huge.

Have any of you ladies found this to be true that you or your partners birth weight has had an impact on your own babies weight??

I see my midwife tomorrow so im going to ask her, i only have midwife led care so im not sure how she can check babys weight but i REALLY would like to have a rough idea as i wouldnt want to go full term if the baby is already pretty big. My mum was in labour for 3 days due to them not realising how big i was and let her go to 42wks which i do not want

Much love Emmy & 34+3 pink bump

Hiya

I dont think what you weighed when you were born has anything to do with it.

My oh was 6lb and I was 7lb, I've had 4 growth scans so far and he's measuring 3 weeks ahead and is expected to be 9lb +.

The only way to tell is by a scan and even then they arn't that accurate.

Hey emmy

i wouldnt count on that as i was 9lb and my two where 7.4 and 6.4 and im a size 16 so not as though im skinny lol.
and my friend hannah is a size 8 and she was born weighing in at 5.11 and her "wee" boy came in at 10lb! ouchy lol.
and she had to have him naturally as they said it was too late for epidural for c section. bless.
dont reall ythink they a soid way to tell. midwife told me my second was going to be 7-8lb and she was the 6.4 one. and i dont smoke and ate like a pig.
