I booked my holiday before i knew i was pregnant. i'm still not 100% how far gone i am but at a guess i'll be about 12 weeks when i fly. thing is i've just read that raising your tempature when pregnant can cause defects. does this mean i shouldn't go in the sun? i'm all confused that its making me not want to go on holiday! can anyone advise me?

thanks.

No you are perfectly safe to be in the sun , I found out I was pregnant just as I moved to the canary Islands.Of course as any time in your life you have to be careful about being in the sun for long periods but really it is very therapeutic for relaxing .Keep yourself well hydrated and you will be fine .The subject you are refering to as raising temperature is more to do with not going in hot jucuzzis and saunas .These aren't recommended in pregnancy. Just relax and enjoy your holiday I am sure you will have a great chill out time
k xx
