"Told my mum yesterday" Posted by bouncygond 27 June at 09:25
So, have you told your parents yet, Flo? We need details!
My mum arrived for a visit yesterday and I thought I'd better tell her about the new baby. So I showed her my new dress. She loved it but wondered whether it may be a bit too big for me. I explained that I'd need the expansion space in a few months' time. I think she's still in shock.
Oh, and I mentioned that it's not a cat this time, either!!

We bought hubby's parents a terramundi for our wedding in April and had written on it 'Grandchildren fund' so we when we got back from our honeymoon and found out we rang them and told them to start filling it up!

"Say it with flowers?" Posted by bouncygond 26 June at 12:43
I sent my mum a bunch of flowers with a note saying:
"Dear Granny-to-be, please come and visit the new addition to the family in March. Love all of us. Ps: it's not a cat."
She called me and spoke the line I will never forget:
"If it's not a cat what is it?"
Classic.

"Not a cat! lol" Posted by popsy25 26 June at 13:02
That's fantastic, that made me laugh, my mum would have said exactly the same.
So have you decided how to break the news yet? Has it been done? We want to hear all about it!
I walked throught the front door after knowing all that day and keeping it to myself, and burst into tears! My poor partner was on the phone, nearly dropped it, and rang off straightaway. When I told him, he laughed and said he thought something bad had happened! Not sure what I expected, but it wasn't laughter! I think I was more in shock than he was! lol x

"Congrats" Posted by billybean 25 June at 20:25
Hiya, we told parents by giving them a copy of the scan picture wrapped up. My sister lives away so I took a picture on my mobile and wrote a message with it saying "hiya auntie Caroline, im gonna be your niece or nephew". I too struggled cos I didnt want to just phone her. Good luck with the news. Everyone will be happy which ever way you tell them.

"Breaking the news" Posted by alleycat2 25 June at 19:11
My way of breaking the news to family was with slight humor. I called and made some small talk and then asked what they were doing around the month of Sept. (my due date month) and they said nothing they knew of and asked me why. Then I told them "That is when I am due to have the baby". I called one of my Sisters and my way of telling her was to leave a message saying "I just called to let you know that you can start planning my baby shower because baby is due in Sept."
