Hi guys,
I am only 7 weeks but it has been the most horrible experience so far. Literally as soon as i fell pregnant it triggered my IBS which i have not suffered from for a couple of years now. I had diarrhoea everyday for the first 5 weeks - now its just a few times a week. For the last 2 weeks i've had sickness that started out in just the morning and now it is most of the day, i started being sick at night, have lost my appetite, have had nosebleeds, the usual sore breasts and emotional rollercoaster that i expected.
I just feel like i am not coping very well - we told our parents at the weekend because it was getting so difficult to disguise and my mother-in-law, who is a headmistress scared me a little because she was going into - you must do this mode etc and started talking about how i need to be eating a balanced diet etc because it is obvious those children who come into school and their parents have not eaten well during pregnancy because they are ill all the time. She was like - all the junk food needs to go etc and the only things that help my sickness are ginger nut biscuits and quavers.
Can anyone offer any advice? I am sorry for rambling i just needed to get it off my chest. My mother-in-law was not being horrible and i know thats just how she is but i feel like i am doing wrong by my baby.
Thank you for listening to me! H

Thank goodness I live too far away from parents and in-laws for regular visits. I know my mum will "give me advice" (even when it's not asked for) but the MIL will give me a list of dos and don'ts (she was a nurse) and expect me to stick to it. I'm not telling the family until all tests are done as I don't think they'd help if I have to come to terms with bad news.
As for diet/sickness - what twisted man called it morning sickness? How about all day apart from when you're eating! My diet consists mainly of toast, rich tea biscuits and tonic water!! Tonight I had pizza (but I did have loads of veg on top so that's OK surely!!). Another friend only survived her 40 wks with a constant drip feed of ginger nuts. Just eat what you fancy, when you want it. Ginger nuts are not going to harm your baby, or even increase the chances of having a red-head!!!

I have IBS and have had horrid diarrohea and sickness i kinda wish to be constipated for a couple of days, igo through lots of rennie each day.
AS to the balanced diet yes you should but you should always eat a balanced diet, dont make me laugh... this weekend i had burger and chips, KFC and chips the only food that doesnt irritate me is crap food. If i eat fruit, salad and veg the water retention makes me look 38 weeks with triplets, i am 12 weeks with one. I too am loving ginger ale ginger biscuits and have always had a penchant for quavers.
Try to eat a mixture if you can or take a mutlivitamin like pregnacare, I hate milk but am driking choc flavoured milk for calcium for the baby stuff like that.
Ignore the MIL...the head mantra that i do is Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah
xxx Chin Up we are all going through it to an extent xxx

Don't worry! All will be fine. I've been feeling just like you. Queasiness gradually becoming worse and I only want to eat cucumber at the moment. Emotions have been up down and all over the place. I keep on wondering what on earth I've done I'm sure it'll all settle down in a couple of weeks. Think everyone goes through an emotional time in the 1st trimester from the threads I can see on here. I'm 7 weeks tmrw btw. Keep in touch and don't worry. p

I know how you feel,i was really sick at the beginning of my pregnancy, kept thinking "oh my god,i can't handle another 6wks of this".But as soon as i hit 12weeks it dissapeared.I'm 19wks now and i still get a sickly belly every now and then, but other than that i feel great.Whereas with my son,i wasn't sick untill at least 10wks,and it lasted throughout the pregnancy. It will all calm down eventually, and you'll be loving the feeling of being pregnant, plus i always think it's nicer to have symptoms than none at all,i didn't have any whatsoever with my last pregnancy, and that ended in micarriage,so i was glad to have the morning/noon/night sickness with this one. Take care.
