i had already a baby and now i am pregnant and i will pray to be able to breast feed the maximum for the immune system of my baby and for the relation between us too and i belive all women should breast feed.

I decided not to breast feed Jaymie. For me it wasnt convienient and i wanted my partner and family to be able to feed him and bond with him that way. He has florished on it...nearly gaining a pound in two weeks!

Yes it is said that breast feeding is better for your baby but at the end of the day it is up to you, for me it didnt feel right and i have no regrets in bottle feeding.

Hi Louise,
I have read the rest of the posts from other mummies to be and i know that they all say that breast feeding has the best start in life etc but i just can't imagine doing it. I am going to bottle feed...but hey i will never say never and who knows. Just do what you are comfortable with!

sorry to be different but i will not be breast feeding. i know there are soo many pro's to it but between my partner and i we have diecieded to go with the bottle, i was bottle fed and my sisters little boy was bottle fed.

i do welcome other peoples opinions as there are a good few weeks left yet.

hope everyone is ok
"Definately worth it!!!"

i breastfed my daughter for 6 months and (eventually) it was one of the best experiences ever. at first i admit it was painful and i wanted to give up several times and give her the bottle, but in a few weeks it was fine. the best feeling in the world is seeing your baby contented after a feed.
i think it is best for them too, when people say 'she looks well fed' or 'she looks healthy' you feel so proud...thinking 'i did that'!!!!
now she is 2 and still eats well and she's not picky with food. i'm now p=regnant with my second and will definately be feeding again....hopefully it won't take as long to get the hang of this time though!!!

IT'S DEFINATLEY WORTH IT!!!!!
"I'm gonna give it a try!"

Hi there!

Congratulations! I'm 13 weeks gone with my first and have been reading up on the pros and cons of breast feeding. Like the others who've replied I agree there seems to be a lot of pros to it so I'm definitely gonna give it a try! Some people find it easier than others I think, but I get the impression if you persist most people get the hang of it!

Talking of breasts, I've heard there are actually some sexy nursing bras out there! Anyone looked at any yet? I'm a long way off but it'd be good to know where to find one!

Best of luck!

x

Hi

I breastfed my son 11 years ago and it did take a bit of a while to get him latched on properly etc, and was quite painful, but i kept at it and in the end i'm so glad i did.
I used to have so much milk, it used to shoot across the room as soon as i took my pad out and if not careful the babe would get an eyefull, let alone a mouth full!

Two tips though, if you do have alot of milk, you maybe better off buying washable breast pads, as i used to have to but 3 of the disposable ones in at once to prevent leaking and also never start feeding without a drink beside you as it makes you very thirsty!

I'm 30 weeks and plan to breastfeed again this time, not just because it's easier to get your boob out in the middle of the night!(than to get up and sort the bottle out) but also because breast milk is so much better for them.

Good on you for giving it a go and if it's not for you, then at least you've given it a shot.

Good luck x

It's the best start you can give a baby and it's a wonderful experience. I wouldn't have missed it for the world and I'll certainly do it with my new baby.
