Although im really happy to be expecting my work situation is really bad, i recently was made redundant, ive just accepted a 8 week temporary contact but then i found out i was pregnant im really worried about what to do now, ive only been working a week and two days, anyone else been in this situation before??

You need to check this out but I think you have to be employed for 26 weeks (without a break in employment)into the 15th week before baby is due to be entitled to any type of maternity leave/pay.
