I live in Wales, when I went to the doctors I'd already done 4 tests. My doctor said they didnt need to do another however he did just to put my mind at rest. My doctor didnt feel my tummy, just referred me to the midwife.
You could ring your surgery tomorrow and ask them if they'll need a specimin, if so you know to take one with you when you go.
Congratulations and good luck.

hi, i'll ring them in the morning, i live in glasgow so maybe they do it different?! i really think i'd rather get it confirmed, i'm just bursting at the seams here and don't want 2 tempt fate even though the tests have all came back pos, does that make sense?? the test i done this morning, the line came up straight away and very clear 2 c, but when i looked at it an hour later it was barely visible, is that normal 2 happen?? sorry if i am goin on a bit, it's just that i have No patience at all and the wait is killing me! x

Hi and congratulations!
It probably depends where you live as to what your Dr will do at your appointment. I'm in Nottingham (UK) and at my first appointment the Dr asked about my last period and cycle etc. Took my blood pressure, had a feel of my tum (I say a feel but it's actually a really hard prodding!) and he passed my details onto the local midwife team for them to arrange my booking appointment. And that was basically it, I didn't take in a sample or have a test done there as the tests you can buy nowadays are as reliable as theirs.
As for it not feeling real - it probably wont until you have your first scan. I'm nearly 23 weeks, have had two scans and feel our baby kicking and moving everyday and I still feel like it's not real sometimes!
Hope this helps.
Good Luck and congrats again!
Ellie. x
