| Thread started by: | "Little worried, big girl, no bump???" Posted by tryinghard83 9 July at 18:14
Hiya,
I'm probably worrying over nothing but I am currently 19 weeks and dont have much of a bump, I was big when I got pregnant approx size 20-22 so I probably need to be massive before anyone notices, but I have found it quite upsetting that people feel the need to comment that I dont even look pregnant. My friend is 3 wks ahead of me and although also quite a big girl she has a very prominant bump, I suppose I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and when they noticed a change. I know every one is different but I am just a bit sick of people commenting as it's now making me paranoid that there is something wrong.
The other thing is that I dont know if I can feel any movement yet, as this is my first. I sometimes think I can feel something weird going on but it's never felt like a definate thing, again I feel I am being compared to other people who have already felt the movements and the fact they are getting stronger whereas I am not doing much of anything. Ultimately I am feeling like a bit of a pregnancy failure, and I am sick of people airing their opinions on matters that just dont concern them.
Has anyone else ever felt like this?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I just want to feel 'normal' again, that my pregnancy is just as important and that everything is ok!!!
Thanks for listening xxxx

i wouldn't worry chick, i feel exactly the same, im an average size 14 normally, im almost 20 weeks and you can hardly tell im pregnant at all, but apparantly the baby is the right size, my cousin is 21 weeks and is massive, she looks ready to pop! everyone is different, and on the plus side, the smaller you stay the less stretch marks you'll have!! as for feeling the baby, iv only just started properly feeling it and its just like trapped nerves around my tummy, havn't felt any propper kicks yet! keep smiling xxx

Hi hun
I totally understand where u are coming from, all throughout my pregnancy people were like "oh your baby must be tiny" and "surely its not good for the baby to be so small" all becasue I have a tiny bump! Its a load of crap! I am now 34 weeks pregnant and last week went for a growth scan cos the midwife wanted to be on the safe side cos I still hardly have a bump, turns out my baby is above average for how many weeks i am---he weighed 5lb 4oz last week according to scan measurements and consultant said if he continues along same path he's guna be at least 8lb! try to ignore comments, however hurtful and trust that you're a young healthy woman and theres no reason why you're baby shouldnt be fine, we're all animals at the end of the day and we're doin what we were desgined to do! xxx
