Hi

I've been trying for a baby for a few months now, and I have had different symptoms each time. It is now 35 days since my last 'period' which I am not sure even existed. This whole month I have had really sore boobs, tiredness and needing to go to the toilet more frequently. However, all the tests I have done have been negative, but there is no sign of an impending period (normally I have bad period pains a few days before).

I know I should be patient and wait, but I keep going back to problems in the past and wonder if I am infertile. Firstly, I had a three month long period which I had to go on medication to stop because my body wasn't producing the right hormones. A couple of years later I had an ultrsound and they couldn't find one of my ovaries!!! I had my appendix removed and they supposedly checked the ovary at the same time, but they didn't really say anything and I didn't question it because I wasn't thinking of having children then.

Should I see my GP and tell him all of this in case there is still something wrong?

Sorry for rambling, we are keeping this a secret so I can't talk to my family and as much asmy husband tries, he doesn't understand.

Thanks

Rosie

Heya,

with my first baby i did 9 pregnancy tests and they all came out negative, i went to my dr's and did a test there, a few days later i got a call saying i was pregnant.

A positive pregnancy test is 99.9% correct but a negative test can be less accurate, so yea if in doubt go see your GP and get them to do a test .

good luck i hope you get the answer you are looking for

Hi there. Am 19 (nearly 20) and i had a miscarriage nearly 21/2 years ago. I have been with my partner for 4 years and we bought our first house 18 months ago. He is 23. We had been trying for 2 years and eventually i sort of gave up and then it happened! 2 years to the date of the miscarriage! My partner has a low sperm count and my periods where up and down ever since i lost the baby. I never had any symptoms before the miscarriage, but after, i had them each month which didnt help. The doctors had no sympathy and would not do any tests. I think its cos i would be a teenage mum and would be another satistic. I am now 14+5wks. The best thing is try not to worry cos stress dosent help. Anyway let me no how you get on and good luck. Stacey x x x

You need to relax I know its easy to say but it can take a year for a healthy couple to get pregnant. Yes it can be normal to have 35 day cycle but if your cycles keep changing see you GP. you wont be referred for treatment unless you have been trying at least 1-2 years depending on age. Have you tried using ovulation predictors and keeping a record of your periods? this is how I got pregnant. im sure you know but don't drink alcohol or smoke oe be with others that smoke. Eat lots of fresh fruit, wholemeal bread etc and try a prenatal supplement. Good luck but try to relax it happens when you least expect it.

hi dont know if you will have the answer to my question, but you seem to have some very good advice so i thought i'd ask anyway!!
I have been trying for 18 months and have been refered for tests which are this month, this was the last try i had before tests. Now i usually have a regular 29 day cycle and ovulate on day 15, this month i ovulated on day 21, now if i caculate my period to my normal cycle i'm due on today or tomorrow, but as i ovulated late will my period be due next week??
I'm really confused and i dont want to get my hopes up thinking i'm late when i'm not due for another week.
Sorry to go on, hope this makes sense.
any advice would be so much appreciated.

what method of birth controll were you using before you started trying??
I think you should see your gp and they might do a blood test.
How long is your cycle usually?
the best thing to do is see your gp then at least you can out your mind at rest.
