Hi,

a few days ago i had some light spotting and some brownish coloured discharge, I went to see my doctor yesterday who said its best for me to have an early pregnancy scan to be sure that everything is ok.

I went for my early scan this morning and it turns out that I am not 6 weeks as we all thought but in fact only 5+3 or thereabouts.

The lady who did the external and internal scan & smear said its far to early to see anything however she said that it was not an ectopic pregnancy & for the stage im at everything looks perfectly normal, she did however say that i have a little "internal" bleeding!

she said that where the egg from the ovary should latch on the side & then release itself & after that it should shrivals & die (still atached to the side) the lady said to me that my egg broke away & ripped a little of my linning but it was nothing to worry about.

Later that day around 5pm ish I got home from work & went to the toilet to find my knickers smeared with dark brown & bright red blood! no clots as such but large areas of blood in the crouch. I also have a little pain/cramps over my right overy. Ive called my doctor who said the was nothing that can be done! it will eaither pass & be a healthy pregnancy or it could be the biggining of a misscarage.

Has anyone else had this???

Just wanted to wish you luck for your pregnancy and to give you a bit of hope.

A friend of mine was in and out of hospital 5 times with her pregnancy last year through bleeding and it turned out she had a healthy baby boy at the end of it!

hi chicky, just letting you know you're not on your own, i had bleeding last year at 12 weeks which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage...i had similar experieces this time at 9 weeks...im now 20 weeks and everything seems ok. it is the worst thing ever just waiting and from my experience waiting is all you can do,only time will tell. fingers crossed for you, take it easy, if you want to chat this is the best place to come. good luck xxx

It gives me hope knowing that although i have bled quite a lot it can still result in a healthy pregnancy, you are right about the waiting, i went to hospital again this morning, i explained that I had a scan yesturday but on the same afternoon i started bleeding a lot of brown blood, the nurse said that although the scan looked normal yesturday it would show no difference today as im still so early in the pregnancy & like you, she said i have to wait & see what happens, nature will take its course. She also said that if i am having a misscarage i would be soaking at least 1 pad an hour, which im no where near doing, what I have seems to be what I would usually have towards the end of my period, around the last 2 days.

The bleeding seems to have slowed down & im only showing small blobs of dark brown blood now. The weird thing is, my instinct is telling me im still carrying my baby but at the same time i also think im in denial & maybe im just hoping.
