Hi
my sister in law has had this on her 2nd pregnancy. She was unlucky in that she has had a fair bit of bleeding and a couple of overnight stays in hospital, but the baby was NEVER stressed and they frequently scanned her. Anyway she was booked in for an elective caeser 26 july when she would have been about 37 weeks I think. But she had her baby girl last night by natural birth, weighing 5lb 7oz and all ok. Just wanted to let you know that the hosp should keep a closer eye on you and that can all be ok. If I have as relatively easy a labour as her I'll be pleased!

Good luck!

lucy

Hi

I had my second scan yesterday at 19 weeks and everything with the baby is fine. However, I have a low lying placenta (previa placenta) which they have told me could cause complications with the birth but in 90% of cases will moved by the time the baby is due. This means I have to have another scan at 32 weeks to check where the placenta is which is great as I get to see the baby again but it is worrying me a bit. I just wondered if anybody else had this and whether the placenta moved or not. Any info would be great.

Thanks
K x

I am now 39 weeks pregnant and i had the same problem, at my 20 week scan they said that the placenta was low lying and i had a repeat scan at 36 weeks which showed that it had moved up well out the way. They said that it moved as the uterus had grown throughout the pregnancy and this is very common.
good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x

A lady I work with had this - she had some bleeding near the start, and this was the reason. She now has a healthy daughter who will be one in October - her placenta moved up and all was fine for the birth.

Good luck! x
