"Doppler any one?"
Posted by lauraellen 15 July  at  21:18

Hi girls i have a scan on Thursday and cant wait to know everything is ok i'll be 12 weeks on Tuesday Woo hoo! 1\3 of the way there
It feels like such a long wait for the scans and there so spread out i was thinking about buying a doppler.
They are a bit pricey but until i can feel it moving it would be so reassuring to hear a heartbeat to know its ok and to know its there! haven't had many syptoms or a bump yet!
What do you think does it sound silly? I read you can hear its heartbeat as early as 10 weeks does any one have one?

Also please dont judge me but im still smoking iv cut down but cant quit! even though i have the perfect reason too i an seeing a nurse about it 2moz tried gum and patches any one managed to quit for good any tips? Iv tried sucking boiled sweets that helped me cut down from 20-30 a day now on 10-15 still too many!!

"Quit smoking tip"

I only read your post cos I didn't know what a Doppler was!!

But I gave up the fags years ago with the help of a book called Easy way to stop smoking, by Allan Carr.
It's fantastic! If you really, truly want to quit for good, read it cos it makes a lot of sense and kind of changes your brain around so you think of smoking totally differently. You'll start to wonder why you ever did! It's great. He does sound like a bit of a patronising w***** but it's worth reading to get off them! It's really not as hard as you think.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your Doppler thingey!

Hi i got mine from www.bumpmagic.co.uk.

Midwife couldn't find my babys heartbeat at my 14 wk appointment so i ordered one - It's the angel sounds one and i've been using it since 15 weeks....but it says you can use it as early as 12 weeks...it's a great thing to have and really reassures you that everything is fine x

hi, i dont know what i would have done without mine!!! im now 20 weeks and had loads of problems with pain and bleeding a few weeks ago so used mine twice a day, it was so reassuring i would deffinately recommend getting one, mine was about £30 from ebay (it was new though) its called angelsounds and can be used from 12 weeks xxx
"Hi! i have one."

HI there. I bought one the other day off ebay. It cost £28.95 and postage £4.95. It was called a fetal heart monitor/doppler and can be used from 10/12 wks. The baby has a heart beat from 8wks. I am 15+3 wks and can hear the heartbeat. Its best to wait while the scan so you no which side the baby is at cos i think i would have struggled a little. Very reassuring that everything is ok as i didnt hear it at the scan. I would definatly invest in one. Stacey x x x

Hey, i no you can buy dopplers early on, I bought one that I could use from 20 weeks+. It was 30 pounds from argos! We loved using it! I am now 27+ weeks and dont use it that much because we get the reassurance from the baby moving and kicking! Its great!

Good luck with your pregnancy x

"Thanks"

Thanks Nat, Was it hard to find the heartbeat? Could you hear it clearly? i'd like to get one so that my boyfriend can feel more involved and listen too. So you dont have too much longer to go now! Do you know the sex of baby picked any names? I cant wait to feel the baby move how many weeks were you when you first felt it? x x
