Hey there,
Im not far gone, just 6 weeks infact, but so far ive had a fair few problems that ive not spoken about with a midwife,im not sure if its too early to book my first apt with her?
I had some spotting on the day my period was due but had done a test two days before it was due and it was a positive result, and, since then all the tests ive done are positive, but i read on google that tests can show positive for weeks or even months after a miscarriage? So im hoping i can have an early scan to put my mind at rest.
Also,my daughter's nursery has a case of slapcheek,(parvovirus B19),I just wondered if anyone else has encountered it while pregnant as it can have an affect on the unborn baby? I read that in the first 20weeks the risk of micarriage is raised by 15% and after that there is a risk of 'hydrops' meaning the baby may need a blood transfusion and have learning difficulties.Ive been advised to have a blood test to see if im immune but there is no treatment except regular scans?
Im worrying my socks off,can anyone reassure me with all this?
Many thanks..

i think what you are talking about is also referred to as Fifths disease. I work in healthcare and my doctor advised me to be screened to see if i was immune. I am not so she let me know to avoid coming in contact with children who may have contacted the virus.

I think the consequences are significant but not sure what the percentage chance of getting it is if you come into contact with it.

Best just be tested for immunity then you know wether to worry or not. Maybe you could have your daughter stay at a relatives or something until it clears its way through the daycare?

Good luck and your midwife should be able to let you know more about risk and wether you should be worried.
