| Thread started by: | "Things to put in a hospital bag...." Posted by natzcatz 18 July at 23:46
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows whats needed to go into the hospital bag you take in with you when you go into labour?
I have two books and a magazine about it but they all say different things.
I have been to ante-natal classes but that important topic never seems to be covered!
The more I look into it the more I get confused!
Please Help!, Many Thanks, Natalie xxx

I would definitely reccomend not to underpack. My husband was across the country when I went into labor at 30 weeks and I didn't have as much as a toothbrush with me. Also if you have other kids that have to come with you (in the waiting room) give them some spare change and something quiet to do (read a book, play a gameboy, etc.)My mother found my 3 kids doing Tae-Bo in the waiting room.

Here is the list I was given, it has everything on it, I have mine packed already just in case and I cant think of anything thats missing. Also take two bags, one for you and one for baby, makes it easier to find things when the time comes.
Another thing is that I've been told to lay things out in the nursery, like nappies, cotton wool, cream, baby gros so that if I need to ask my husband to bring something in its easy for him to find. Mine's useless and will jut panic lol

Thank you for the list! I am so disorganised you wouldnt believe it especially at 31 weeks already!
I still cant quite get my head round the fact that it is actually happening!
Babies need so many things! Wish I had just stuck to cats instead! LOL!
Hope yours goes well, how long do you have to go?
Best Wishes, Natalie xxx

It's really no bother. I have lists all over the house with things on them, I really have to be organised.
I have a list of what to buy for the nursery too and everything I need for when they arrive. As well as a list for my husband with peoples names and phone numbers on so that he can ring them when we're in hospital and tell everyone they've arrived lol. Its all this bedrest I've been on. I'm not usually so organised.
I'm 27 weeks with twins and have already been in hospital once with early contractions so the longer I can hold on the better. I still find myself thinking I'm having a baby and then realising, no I'm having 2! Not sure how we'll cope yet but I'm sure we will.
If you want the other list just let me know Abi x
