"Anybody pregnant after treatment with clomid?"

Hi all

Found out a week ago that I am pregnant, after doing routine pg test 3 days before surgery! Totally unexpected as Fertility Consultant was convinced the last course was not going to work, but had three positive tests and they've booked a scan for tomorrow. My last period arrived 12th June so they are counting me as 6 weeks, but i reckon we conceived only a maximum of 3 weeks and 2 days ago, does anyone know if the scan will pick anything up?

Going bonkers with worry that it's a chemical pregancy and there's nothing in there!!!

Hi Ruby,

I fell pregnant after taking clomid and starting to feel disheartened. Congratulations!!!

My first scan was at 9 weeks (as the hospital I was originally under have not looked after me too well) I am now with my local trust and they are looking after me well. The first scan I had was amasing, didn't think I'd see much apart from a bean and I could make out the baby rather clearly and see the heart beat. Don't worry though because they do say you should not even see the heart beat until 8 weeks.

Good luck with everything and congrats again!

PS. I'm still going bonkers with worry!

Hi Ruby,
I was exactly the same...thought it was a blighted ovum/anembryonic pregnancy!
I am currently 13 weeks and 6 days pregnant with my first after over 2 years of trying with the help of Clomid, I have PCOS and I was just about to start injecting myself ready to start on IUI! It will really depend on how your own personal cycle is as to whether you will get to see anything but your gestational sac. Some people will see a yolc sac and fetal pole at this stage, some may even see a heart beat but don't get upset if you don't. I have/had a very irregular cycle and my first scan was at 6 weeks and 5 days, all we saw was a 19mm sac, they asked me to go back in 2 weeks time, this was a long wait as you can imagine, but it was nearly up when I had some light bleeding and wasted no time in going back at 8 weeks and 3 days. At this stage we saw a a little embryo at 19mm with a heartbeat! I've never cried so much! I have had 4 scans now as I still get light bleeding/spotting every now and again but thankfully each time all is proved to be well and little Peanut as I like to call him/her is hanging on in there! It didn't help me in the fact that I had virtually no symptoms and just thought the worst each and every time!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY, I hope you get to see your little one tomorrow but PLEASE do not get disheartened if you don ... s still early days!
Please let us know how you get on and if I can be of help in answering any questions or anything just let me know!

All the best and Good Luck tomorrow and the rest of your pregnancy and motherhood!

Forgot to say....
They are dating me as 13 weeks and 6 days as this is set by the first day of my last period, however..... I KNOW that I am only 13 weeks today as I had a folicle tracking scan done and saw the follicle BEFORE it relased the egg! So don't worry too much about your dates!
