Hi All.

Not the nicest of subjects!

I really can't bare the thought of being cut down there and i want to do all i can to avoid a tear.

Do you have any info or advice for me on Perineal massage?
Has anyone done this or intending to?

Just ordered some Wheat Germ oil and Almond oil
( along with my Raspberry leaf tea! )
Are these oils okay to use and if so when should i start using them?

I'm 33 weeks at the mo!...Thankyou x

Hi
Just thought I would add that as I recall this isn't your first baby its highly unlikely you will need to be cut and unless the baby comes down at an unorthodox angle you rarely tear as you have made the 'stretch 'before .If say you have slight sctatching or very minor tear inside they won't suture it , it will heal itself - believe me it is the stitches that are more painful than anything else.
relax I am sure you will be fine

Hi Kerrie

I have started to think about this one too...heard a horror story recently which has made me have nightmares about it!!

I think I'll try the Vaseline...but certainly won't let my partner do it, haven't let him near me in weeks!! lol

Where did you order the stuff? I want to get some raspberry leaf tea ready for week 36! As for almond oil, that's used as a carrier oil for massage so should be pretty safe, but might be worth mentioning it to the MW when you see her next.

Hope all's well! x

Hi Kirsty,

I have to go and have my 2nd anti d jab on Friday so i'll mention it to midwife then.

I've also heard a horror story lately which is why i'm so keen to try to do all i can to prepare area!!

I ordered my raspberry leaf tea bags ( heath & heather ones - as was told they're quite nice ) from

www.goodnessdirect.co.uk

Also got my wheat germ and almond oil from there.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now x
