Hi,
i expereienced something similar when i was pregnant with my first and was diagnosed with spd which is symphis pubic disfuction its when all the hormones in your body cause your pelvis to over stretch and causes pain. The only thing that can really be done is physio. My doctor however didnt really give much notice to the amount of pain i was in so never got any help. It does dissapear pretty much as soon as the babys born. However i am now told with my second it will be worse!!! i hope it doesnt effect you to much i understand how much it can hurt xxx

Hi There
I am 31 weeks and luckily enough not to have had that pain this time but I did suffer with it in my last pregnancy .It is a condition called SPD -symphisis pubis dysfunction when basically the 2 bones that make up your pubic bone at the front 9which are normally held in place by strong muscle ) seperate causing immense pain with almost any activity . There is no real treatment but i found these things helpful : use a support belt (available off ebay or mothercare ) , keep your knees together when getting up or out of bed etc . Rest assured it does get better really quickly after the baby comes . Good luck

I had pelvic pain because the Doctor said it was the baby moving into position. I also had the baby pushing on my bladder and for the longest time had a nagging side pain and burning when I urinated as if I had a UTI, but I didn't. All I could do was try to sleep or sit in different positions hoping the baby would shift al little and let some of the pressure off. It helped sometimes but I basically had it up until I finally had my baby. Myabe you will find relief though!

Hi there,

I am 35 weeks now and have been getting this for a while.

It seems to be worse at night or after I have been sitting down for a bit! I try to get up and it feels very stiff and painful. Other times it feels like I am having one big period pain!

I am feeling so heavy now, especically when I am walking around. Feeling like a right old woman now! I am sure its the baby putting pressure on that area. Cant wait till I can have my body back!

Hope it all gets better soon, will be so glad not to have that pressure!

Good Luck with it all,
Natalie x

"Thanks!"

Hey hun, i have the last few days my bones feel like they are going to crack so much pressur on them. I am 37 weeks on friday.
I think its just your body preparing like it does with BH...i am not going to get worried about this and see it as a good sign that body is preparing.

Good luck hunni,
