I think that the best for you and your baby is to give up smoking but I know it`s so difficult. I`ve been smoking for a long time and 6 month ago I had a baby. I couldn`t stop smoking while I was pregnant but only smoked 5 cigarrettes a day. Like you are, I was woried about my baby but at the end he is a precious baby, so beautiful and sane. The doctor can help you to give up smoking but don`t worry if you can`t. Try to be possitive. Kisses

Try the book "Alan Carr's the Easy way to Stop Smoking". It is brilliant - remember the very first cigarettes you ever had and how foul they were, but of course we persevered and got hooked - and suddenly they were wonderful and we enjoyed them so much? Well guess what - each and every cigarette we have is actually just as foul as the first one, but nicotine has our bodies tricked into thinking we like it. Clever, eh.
I read the book and while I didn't immediately stop smoking, when I found out I was pregnant months later I could stop. And I don't even miss it - because I realise I am not missing something wonderful that I enjoy, but that I have escaped something which was killing me, and increasing my suffering every day (but meanwhile was tricking me into thinking it was wonderful). My husband still smokes (banned to the balcony!) but I haven't even had one - so it is possible!!!
Please try the book, and I hope it helps you as much as it did me.

No matter what it takes you need to stop. Think about your child and what could happen if you don't. I agree that you should go to the doctors to find out how your baby is.

at the end of the day if smoking isn't good for an adult its not good for your unborn child. i have two kids and quit in pregnancy and now all together, 9 months is a small sacrifice for your child, when you have a fag just think hard of the damage, you would never forgive yourself if something was wrong
