Hi
I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and it roughly weighed 4lbs 11oz, and then had another one at 36 weeks and it measured roughly 6lb 12oz.. but my midwife advised they can be soooooooo wrong. also watched a hospital programme and they did a growth scan at36 weeks and she was advised the baby was 6lb 15oz, she finally went 8 days over due and the baby only weighed at the end 7lb 5oz so if she went via the scan it only put on 6oz in 5weeks!!! doesn;t seem right well anyway i have only 2 1/2 weeks left so will see if the scan was anywhere near rite.
all the best to all chez...

"Growth scan!" Posted by jojobubs 4 September at 17:37
Hi.
I'm having a growth scan tomorrow too as I've measured 24cm at 28 weeks and midwife thinks baby is too small for gestation. I was very worried but have since read lots about fundal height measurements and they can be very inaccurate. They don't take into account the position of the baby (i.e. if he/she is lying transverse the measurement may seem smaller, or if he/she is deep into the spine etc). I am still a little concerned but am keeping an open mind and looking forward to seeing my little fella once again on the screen and having some more pictures! Hope it all went well for you x

"Had one today!" Posted by liv255 3 September at 20:53
Hi, I'm just over 30 weeks and have had my growth scan today. The technician measured the head, leg and tummy and plotted them on the graph in my notes. From that it was worked out that he is a little bigger than average.
I asked if they could calculate his weight - she said he is now about 4pounds! This totally freaks me out as we stll have another 10 weeks to go!!! I'm going to have a huge baby and end up being in the newspaper!!
I'm sure everything will be fine for you tomorrow
Rebecca x
