"Ive got one!" Posted by staceymy 6 September at 14:31
i got a doppler off ebay(brand new) when i was 14wks. its one of the early ones where you can hear the heartbeat from 10/12wks. it was tricky at first to find the heartbeat but i knew that i had found it when i had my m/w appt at 15wks cos it sounded exactly the same. i dont use it that often now only when bump is having a quite day. they are worth the money tho. good luck with your pregnancy.

"Just got it" Posted by annaespana1 4 September at 17:19
Just got the Summer Listening system- FAB!! He is a busy little bee- heart beat is clear enough (I'm 24 weeks gone) but he is kicking about like a pro- footballer! It's obviously not as good as machine doc has but it does the job between visits! XXX

"Doppler? " Posted by ronnierama 5 September at 02:38
Hi, We just got a doppler. We had a very-late term loss last time around. We've listened our pea-pod's heartbeat every other day or so since we have received it, and it's very comforting.
The doppler is no-way as good as my doctor's...and it takes some practice to find the heartbeat.

"Dopplers" Posted by minxy21 4 September at 15:37
Hi Ladies, did anyone else get advised by the m/w not to get a home doppler? she strongly disagreeded with it saying that most people did not know where to find the heartbeat, or that they were mistakenly listening to their own heartbeat and didn't know it. i only ask cos i am very tempted to get a home doppler as i will not have another scan now until 20 weeks (i am now 11 weeks, had a scan at 9 weeks due to some bleeding and cramping) so i dearly want to hear the h/b before then! do you get instructions on where to 'look' for the h/b? Karenxxx

"Hi" Posted by ellie223 4 September at 15:54
My midwife hasn't said anything about not getting one, although the summer pre natal listening system does advise you that you may not hear the heartbeat until the middle of your second trimester (between 24 - 28 weeks) and it can be really scary when you can't find where baby is and I'm 30 weeks and 4 days!
Not sure what doppler you would need to get though.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

"Got one!" Posted by ellie223 3 September at 21:28
Hi
I got my summer pre natal listening system about 2 weeks ago. I'm 30+3 and sometimes it's hard to pick up baby's heartbeat but when I do find a good strong heartbeat it sends me off to sleep!! Now I've got the nack of finding where my baby is, I love to have a little listen every now and then especially if baby has been particularly quiet and it gets baby kicking like mad too!!! The hiccups sound sooo sweet too!

"I can recommend the angel sounds" Posted by summerlee1 3 September at 19:16
Hi
I got the Angel sounds fetal heart doppler from www.bumpmagic.co.uk which can be used from 12 weeks.
For the monitor, a big tube of gel and postage i think it came to around £38 but I think it's excellent and wouldn't be without it now.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I'm due on Sunday! x
