Heya ladies,

well because im a high risk Group B Streptococcus carrier and ive had one child with it in the past(GBS meningitis) i will have to have IV antibiotics for 2 hours during labour, only problem is my longest labour was 1 hour 30 mins (my first) and they have gotten quicker each time, what the Obs said was i will be given the IV antibiotics for as long as i can then baby and i will be kept in for 48 hours and baby will be given IV antibiotics and will be swab checked for the infection for the 48 hours.

Im not really bothered by the whole hospital birth as opposed to a home birth as long as my baby doesnt get GBS meningitis again thats the most important thing, but the MW has said she will give us a home birth pack just incase i dont make it to the hospital in time but either way we will have to be transfered to the hospital so the baby can have its antibiotics.
