I brought my partner a pregnancy book for dads and he hasnt even opened it.
He doesnt think he needs to know whats happeneing now just as long as he is a good dad when bubs arrives.
Is this normal or does my bloke just not care?

I suggested to my boyfriend that he read the bits in my pregnancy book for "fathers to be" and he just wasnt interested, he said hes not in to reading books and isnt stupid!. So I suggested cosying up on the sofa and ME reading parts of the book to him, he agreed to this but it hasnt happened yet! I think its just a bloke thing and probly dont help that we now have sky sports!!!

Hi, i bought 'Blokes Guide to Pregnancy' too, i think he is yet to even get past the intro and i am 19+5!!

He is interested tho - now i am starting to show he is always trying to look at my belly (a tad embarassing at times!) and wants to know if i've felt any movement etc.

I think if you're bloke is a natural reader then all well and good, he will read, if he isn't he will pick up info from his mum, friends, you etc.

Hi there. I bought my husband "The Men's guide to Pregancy", which is written by a bloke, for blokes. It is very funny in places and states the facts in a good way. However, he is reading it very slowly and the chapter he has just got to is The First Trimester. I am now 12 weeks + 2 days, so I have told him he needs to read a bit faster, or he will be reading about the Third Trimester about 10 weeks after I have had the baby!

Hi there,
I think it's just a bloke thing! Let's be honest. . do you really want him to be too interested? Can you imagine him suggesting what you eat, how you exercise etc. .
My blokes the same in a way. When I share certain 'facts' from my books, he really isn't that interested either and it usually ends up in an argument!!!
I think the quiet life is the best! I'm sure he'll be great when the baby arrives!
