"Few queries from 1st time mum due on 31st jan"

Hi all mums to be!

Well i'm 21 and expecting our first child on Jan 31st. Be great to hear from anyone with similar due dates.

Few questions from a paranoid mum to be...

How big should i be? Haven't really got much of a bump yet and people keep telling me that im really small still, which is making me very paranoid. I have put on weight but it just looks liek ive been eating too much!

Should i have felt much movement? Keep feeling getting these little pulses in stomach now and again..not sure if this could be baby or me wanting it to be.

Also noticed a really tiny bit of spotting when i went to the toilet, like the size of a penny, (sorry 2 go into detail), but have had no pain. Am rather worried, and really not sure what i should do. I have got my scan on the 17th, should i just wait to see then if everything is ok? Also having looked in my diary, this should be the time that would of been on my period, could this have anything to do with it?

Sorry 2 go on...be great to hear back from you with any advice or comments

Thanks

Laura x

im 20 and expecting our first baby on the 4th jan. am 24wks today. i only noticed that i had got a bump at 22wks. alot of people say i look small. this women who comes to my house nearly every week (and has known that i was pregnant from 7wks) said are you still pregnant or did you lose it?! i was 21wks!

i have felt movement from 16wks and kicks from 18wks. that pulsing feeling will be the baby cos thats how i would describe it.

good luck with your scan and private message me anytime.

I agree with what the others have put. Everyone carries diferent.
I have got quite a large bump, it's diferent each day? sometimes it looks bigger at night! Maybe cos i've eaten.
However I've put on quite a lot of weight,to embarrassed to say how much! and i'm not over eating i'm actually eating healthy but there you go the joys of pregnancy!

I'm due on the 21st Jan I'm 21 weeks.

I am experiencing plenty of movement and my partner felt it kick for the first time last week.
I wouldn't worry to much about the spotting, if you've had no pain and especially when your period is due this is meant to be quite common. But you can always speak to the Midwives at your Hospital on the phone. you should have a help number.
I called the other day with slight spotting although.....sorry to be gross....I think it was a small heomarroid that burst as it wasn't from the front?! didn't even know I had one?!?!?

Good luck & take it easy. You'll love the scan

Hi Rachel

Thanks for your reply. Yes i think im just being over paranoid about everything, and i have noticed already that my bump is definately getting bigger by the day.

Yeah cant wait 4 my partner 2 feel baby, think he may be a little freaked out...but in a good way!

i rang the midwife at my hospital last night and disappointed 2 say they weren't much help and told me to ring my general practitioner. So i did, and spoke 2 a nurse due 2 no midwife being available and she said it doesnt sound like anything to worry about due to no pain, and how much blood there was. She was very helpful and insisted that if further blood is lost or any pain go straight to a and e. But touch wood, no signs of anything yet. and she also suggested that spotting could of been from other end due to constipation, (sorry !).

Thanks again 4 reply

i wouldnt thought should be a certain size because everyones different. i never start showing until i was coming up to 21weeks. Am still being told now at almost 25weeks im doing great, for how many weeks i am.
i never felt any good movement until 20 weeks, but i had odd twitchs from around 17 weeks but i never thought twice about it, as i didnt find out was pregnant to 18 weeks.
never had spotting so cant comment on that.

Hi Leighanne

Thanks for reply

since my message i seem to be getting bigger every time i look in the mirror, so have relaxed abit now!

Plus noticed alot more butterflys lately, particularly ater eating.

Rang nurse about spotting and she said due to lack of pain and the fact that there wasnt alot of blood, its nothing to worry about. And i havnt had anything since, and stil feeling bump move, so im just going to wait for scan on Monday.

Do you know the sex of your baby?

xx

hi ya ladies...first as leighanne sed u dont have to be a certain size and look at it this way if ur not huge u have less to lose at the end...lol

the pulese u are feeling defo sound like baby moving ..feels a bit like butterflies but not quite the same...hard to explain..lol

As for the spotting ...as long as u have no pain and its not a lot of blood then u shud be ok ...but if u get ne pain or it gets worse go to ur midwife as its better to be safe than sorry...
