"Weight gain" Posted by dawnt 13 September at 17:29
Hi Stacey
It does vary considerably from woman to woman, as no two bodies or pregnancies are the same. I think they base it on an average, but I've known some women to put on loads. My sister-in-law put on nearly 5 stone whilst pregnant! Not sure if this was all baby, or down to the excessive amounts of MacDonalds Big Macs and Mcfluffys!
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have gained just under 2 stone which I think is quite alot, but I haven't been eating excessively and have tried to have plenty of fruit, vegetables and healthy things, although I have given in to the odd treat or two occasionally.
I was 9 1/2 stone before so not looking too huge yet, but I've still got a way to go so who knows! I shall probably be a right bloater by the end!
Oh well, plenty of time for us to loose it when baby comes!
Take care
Dawn x

"Me too" Posted by shelly782003 13 September at 13:14
Hi,
I am nearly 11 weeks with twins and nearly put on 3/4 stone! Because i have been really ill with sickness, i have to keep on eating bread and potatoes to just ease it away a bit. Luckily i was a only a size 8/10 when i got pregnant so its not major at the moment, but i am very careful normally. I feel really fat and bloated, and i haven't even got to the second trimester yet!!
I have come to the conclusion that at least my babies are getting lots of nutrients, and i can worry about loosing it when they are born.
Hope all goes well

"Oh yes...i'm sooo fat!!!" Posted by racheldee 13 September at 09:37
Hiya
I'm fat & I don't care. I'll worry about it when Bean's arrived! I'm 5f 2.5"(got to have the .5!) I've put on 2 stone and i'm 21 + 4!!!! I had actually put on a bit before We got preggars because I was easing of a bit out of my healthy regime. I'm still trying to be healthy and do a bit of activity but i'm so tired & i'm certainly not depriving myself of anything during this time.
I think a big factor is what you were doing pre preggars, for me I have a very active job , working long shifts as well as frequent visits to the gym etc as soon as I declared preggars I was on Office Duties. So i'm sat on my back side all day. Naturally your gonna put on weight easier.
Don't worry about it,enjoy being pregnant and you can deal with it after. It's no time to worry now!
Good luck Rachel & Bean 21+4 xx

Thanks for your reply Rachel!
It nice to know that my weight gain is not too over the top! I think it is just something to worry about, I'm sure there will be something else by next week!!
Good luck with your pregnancy!

"It varies" Posted by freddie53 13 September at 12:43
I am 22 weeks and have put on a stone - I think that is about right for me. It really varies from person to person and pregnacy to pregnacy. My mum put on 4 stone with me and only 1 stone with my Brother!
I have noticed that some of my weight is flab - my thighs are like cottage cheese - yuk! So have started aquanatal to kit them not too disgusting. I am quite sensative about my weight as I was very big and lost 4 stone a few years ago and really don't want to go back to that size!

"Don't worry" Posted by annaespana1 13 September at 17:32
I ve put on 2 and half stone. I am 25weeks+2 I was 8 stone before and now am 10 and a half. I don't look big on my arms, back, face or legs- but my bump and boobs are huge!! I eat when I am hungry (which is often) but I believe if you eat healthily and you and the baby are well nourished then the weight gain is OK. You can loose it later anyway with sonme hard work- and after going through this preg- that will be a doddle!!
