Hiya, I didnt have a show or anything like the text book says. Without being too rude. I couldnt stay off the toilet, going for number two's. The midwife said that it was my body making room for my babies entrance. My waters didnt break until I was 7cm dilated and sat on the loo in the delivery room. My labour was 9 hours long and quite easy. Put it this way, im looking forward to the next one.
Good luck

Hi
I'm 38+2 (first timer!) and hoping that some experienced mums may be able to comment on this...
For the last 3 evenings, I have felt sick, hot and clammy, and had a few contractions, ranging from just a hard tum to one belter this morning at 5am - which turned into nothing! I have also had bad backache, and today I have no appetite, and my poor belly is gurgling and churning. I haven't had any kind of a show yet, although the tingles in your bits which are supposed to show the baby's low down have been happening for a week or so!
What do you think? Does it sound like I'm nearly there, or could this go on for weeks?! Part of me wants it to start, the other part is very nervous!
Any thoughts?
K x

Thanks for the replies...nothing's happened since, just a few more twinges. I haven't really at any point thought I was in actual labour, just keep wondering if (or rather, when!!) it's going to happen. Am a control freak, like to plan everything to the last! lol
Hope you're all ok (and your bumps!)

Hi K,
I am just over 39 weeks - due on Tuesday 18th September!
I have been getting those feelings too for a few weeks now! I keep on thinking is it going to happen now then it all dies down!
I know how you feel about wanting it all over and done with but then feel really nervous about it all to!
Hope we dont have too much longer to go and that it is as smooth as possible!
I've got a midwife appointment the day I am due so guess if he hasnt made an appearance by then they will talk about inducing me! I am so scared!
Big Hugs & Best Wishes, Natalie xxx
