| Thread started by: | "Had a private scan today at 8 weeks! it was amazing!" Posted by emilycamden 16 September at 18:49
Hello everyone!
Hope all is well, had my first scan today, I am exactly 8 weeks today. Even though it was a big expense to me I just wanted to make sure it wasn't all in my head! It was amazing, saw the baby with a really strong heartbeat, I've never felt this way towards anything before I got so emotional, it was snoozing apparently, but it was just so good!
Just wanted to share it with you all as my non pregnant friends aren't understanding! Can't wait till my 12 weeks NHS one now!!!

I went with baby premier http://www.babypremier.co.uk, They have places all over the country I think, I went to the one in central London, everyone was really friendly and the lady who was doing the ultrasound answered loads of my questions and explained everything really well.

Hi,
Firstly congratulations, I bet that it was worth the money to get that peace of mind. Although I think it is bad that we should have to pay out money for private scan when we have already paid our dues to the nhs.
I personally think that you should have at least three scans. I think having a scan early on is very important as it would relieve the stress a little in these vital early weeks.
I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy, I am hoping to not get my a/f tomorrow after having a m/c in July I really hope this is my month.

Hi,
I've suffered a miscarriage before aswell and it is the hardest thing to get through, partly why I wanted to ease my worry a little.
I'll have my fingers crossed for you and that we both have healthy babies. Although I know everything is ok for now still doesnt stop me worrying, just a natural born worrier me. Its doing my other halfs head in. Thank you for the lovely reply by the way too.
