"Wanting to get pregnant early next year so have come off the pill- advice please!!"

Hey all

I would really appreciate some advice!!

My husband and I decided we wanted to get pregnant early next year and timing is important for reasosn such as maternity leave, his job, mine, adn move over seas to family etc (although I am fully aware it almost NEVER goes to plan)

Anyway, I have been on the pill for over 15 years (Yasmin) and took a break 7 years ago- I did not get my period in NINE months and my Dr made me go back on the pill as my estrogen levels were too low (so never knew if I would!). I already know I may have trouble getting pregnant, but I am much healthier and now weigh a healthy weight.

So I decided to go off the pill to give my body 'a break' and try and get ovulating naturally for early next year (knowing it may take months for me to ovulate natuarally), and we planned to use Persona as contraception (reads hormones levels and is 94% acurate so you can abstain/use contraception on your risky days). Sounded perfect on the website in theory. BUT.......

When I went to buy persona (thinking I will use it for 3 months as contraception and then use it as an ovulation tool to aid in getting pregnant), it states on the box NOT to use until you've had 3 periods (did not see this on the site!). DAMN , as I've come off the pill now and really don't want to go back on as it's really important to me.

What would people suggest? I know it is really unlikely I will get pregnant, but if I do we will be so happy we will deal with the timing (and breaking contracts!).

I wanted to know if anyone else tried to come off the pill before the actually wanted to get pregnant and if there were any other methods of contraception (through hormone readings, not condoms) that people know of?

Any thoughts for my situation?
Thank you!
