hi hun, i started to buy bits after my 20 week scan but by 22 weeks the whole room was complete! i was a bit of an eager ... i didn't find out the sex so i did the walls cream and used yellow and green jungle accessories to decorate it, i really liked the jungle things in mothercare but it was a bit expensive so i bought a border and bedding set off the internet and my mum made the curtains, i used spare border to decorate a lamp, mirror and around the light switches and its looking lovely now!
if you want to start it then do and have some fun...its a real mood booster! xxx

Hi Fraz

My advice to you would be to decorate the room in a neutral colour, say a warm cream or something quite pale and bright. Then when you find out the sex (if that's what you choose to do) all you have to do is finish it off with a few coloured accessories, like a pretty border or stencil and picking out those coloured to decide what cot bumper etc to buy. At least if you decide to paint the room in pale colours, you can at least get the bulk of the work done so that you just need to finish the room off with finishing touches.

I'm very lucky to have a husband that's a painter and decorator so he's extremely enthusiastic to get started on the room (I'm 28 weeks pregnant). I'm having a girl so have just bought the nursery furniture which is the Cosatto Slotti range in Candy girl which is really funky and a little bit different.

I never thought I could get so excited over decorating a room before! And just think, soon there'll be a little person in there!

Anyway, have fun decorating the room.

Take care for now

Dawn x
