Hi girls

Hope you're all doing fine.

I went for a 28th week growth scan yesterday as recommended by sonographer following my 22 week measurements coming up top end of normal for abdominal circumference.

The AC is still measuring large at 95th centile although I'm told within normal range for gestational weeks. I've been told it's going to be a big baby, and is already over 3lbs and I've got 11 weeks still to go!

Has anyone else had a growth scan and told that the AC is large? All the other measurements seem to be in line with each other apart from the AC. The sonographer yesterday said that the baby is growing well but has a large stomach.

Feel a little bit worried now that she is going to be born with a huge tummy, but I suppose better to be big then small.

Just thought I would fill you all in on what happened.

I am going back in six weeks time for another scan to check on growth.

Bye for now

"I was told to expect a big baby"

Hi,
I had a 4D scan at 28wks and was told to go back to hospital 4 weeks later for a growth scan as the baby was measuring larger average. It was mostly the length of the baby that was making the figures shoot up, when i went for my scan at around 32wks they said all was fine and that i should expect a slightly larger baby and at that time he was about 5lbs. I was huge! but my boy was breech so was more uncomfortable than it would have been if in the head down position. For that reason i had a c-section at 38 1/2 wks (was booked for 39 but went into labour early) i had a beautiful, healthy, happy baby boy who was 8lb 13oz born and is now 9wks old and just under 13lbs. I honestly would not worry too much, if the doctors are not too worried then i would not worry. Stressing yourself out at this late stage in your pregnancy could do you more harm than good. Hope all goes well for you and enjoy your little bundle when he/she arrives, its the best thing in the world!

Good luck

Marie and baby Joshua

hi hun, my friend was told her baby was too small, she had scans right up until 34 weeks and the doctors told her she was going to have a very small baby, she ended up having him at 38 weeks and he weighed 7lb 2oz...all that worrying for nothing! it just shows, things can change, eleven weeks is a long time and im sure everything will be fine, anyway like you said, its better to be bigger than smaller. take care x
