Hey mums to be.
I went to the hospital for a antinatal check-up and while they were taking my blood pressure they told me it was quite high. 139/90. i had to stay for some further tests and it had dropped to 128/73 so all was good. However they want me to come back every two weeks to be checked.
Last time it was 130/86 and the second reading was 129/84.
However since talking to my midwife she told me that my base reading i had when i first got pregnant was 128/80 anyway so i do tend to have high blood pressure. I then spoke to my mum who told me that as a family we all tend to have high blood pressure which has reassured me but Im just wondering if there are any other mums to be out there that also have been told this? It is quite worrying, but each time i get to listen to my babys heartbeat which is reassuring and i know that everyting is fine with the baby...I just dont want it to develope into pre-eclampsia. Have any mums here had pre-eclampsia and what is it like? Do you think i am worrying for nothing? or is it better to be informed?
Anyway, Im 20 + 4 weeks now and i have my 20 week scan on friday so hopefully i'll get to find out if its a boy or girl!
I would just like to know if there are other people put there that have had, or are having the same concerns as me

I was rushed into hospital over the weekend as my blood pressure was 150/105and I had protein in my urine.had to stay over 2 nights it came down to 130/87 which is apparently on the high side of normal. I never usually have any probs with blood pressure it only seems to go up when I'm pregnant which is common. Although when i was pregnant with my first it was fine the whole way thru up until 36 weeks it shot up and developed into pre-eclampsia. I was induced at 37 weeks. Now they are checking it twice a week aswell as my urine. Consultant said he is considering putting me on tablets to keep it down. Amyx

when i was carrying my son i had high blood pressure but it was only on a wednesday and sunday? dunno why dont ask?? but seriously the amount of times it shot up on the wed so i had to rush straight to the hosp to be monitored stay in over night(being woken every hour) only to wake up on the thursday and it would have gone so they would book a midwife to come see me on the fri and that was fine and she would come on a sunday and it would be through the roof again. but im just strange. but it all turned out ok just watch out for a head ache XXX

Hi...I went to visit the girls at work yesterday and they checked my BP and it was 140/106!!! My base is something like 130/79..so this morning me and my partner were at the car wash and he noticed my feet were puffy...so we quickly shot up to the docs and it was 129/80 or something....we cant be monitoring our BP all the time..I just worry about my baby the same as you...I am 37 weeks and my BP has been high since about 34...
Congrats and good luck with the rest of ytour pregnancy!
See Ya
