Hi all, anyone else suffer from bloated belly? I know i wont be showing for some time now but my belly looks fat already! I think the bad bought of nausea may have caused me to overeat (the only way of preventing the sickness!) Everything is now digging in to me which is a little alarming (!) xxx

Hi, thanks for the advice.....i laughed at the elastic band trick, so simple yet genius! thanks for that :+)i think water retention can be a problem at the beginning and thinking about it i always did get a very big belly at the time of the month too so its normal. Plus the odd extra pudding and mars bar doesn't help ;+) xxx

I am getting a exection wasit band thing from a catologe after the post strike and already got joggers, so i would recommend you get them. Good luck, Lisa

Although I managed in my looser normal trousers until about 13 weeks, I definitely felt wider from 9 weeks. I think most of it was just water retention at that stage. I also found I had to snack loads, when I'm normally a 3 square meals a day person. That probably didn't help. I gained about 4 pounds quite quickly, but then no more for about 6 weeks.
Try the elastic band trick (thank goodness someone showed it to me!) to get a couple more weeks out of your trousers. If you loop an elastic band (or a hair elastic band) through your buttonhole, you can use the loop round your button instead of the buttonhole itself. It's the cheapest trick in the book! Makes things much more comfy - you just need to make sure you are wearing long tops. Might buy you a bit of time...
