"Bras!?"

Hi! i have been reading in some mags that wearing underwire bras are not good during pregnancy as they can damage the milk ducts?

i am coming up to 7 weeks and my boobs have grown rather large!!! i have been wearing wired bras as i find them comfortable and give more support.

Any advice?

thanks xxx

just wondering where you can buy nice maternity/nursing bras from, i know mothercare and mark's sell them but just wondering if anyone has seen any decent ones anywhere else. i just find that they come so high up that you can see them under clothes. x

Hi,

I was the same (still wearing underwired bras until a few weeks ago). I have heard that its better to wear non wired ones.

I got measured at M&S and they do really supportive maternity bras in there (£14 each). I admit they are not the sexist style, but it put my mind at rest. I have gone up 2 cup sizes and i'm only 13 weeks!

The joys of pregnancy

Good Luck!

I was very unwilling to part from my underwired bras when i started to grow. I had a huge boob growth spurt at the beginning of my pregnancy and have not had much change in the last 10 weeks or so but after going for a properr fitting and being told that i should not really wear underwired i succumed and bought a maternity bra.

I honestly thought that i would hate it and that my new larger breast would just look saggy - but i have been very pleasantly suprised. If properly fitted they fit very well and give plenty of support. On occasion i have gone back to wearing an underwired bra and just find them uncomfortable now.

So my advice is to get properly fitted and just try one - as you to may find that they are not as bad as you would expect.

hope this helps

Hi Ladies,

I would suggest getting into a pregnancy bra as soon as you can. I am 36 weeks and have gone up and up the whole way through my pregnancy and trust me when i say you should listen to what your body is telling you.

As your bump grows the wire will dig in and is painful

I'm starting to worry, I'm only about 5 1/2 weeks and I've grown out of my normal bras already! Feeling much harder and heavier as well. I don't know what size I'm going to end up!
Like everything during pregnancy it's probably better to be safe than sorry but I prefer the support of underwired and if ever there was a time when we needed extra support...
I'm going into town later to see if I can find anything comfy (and I'll probably need to do it again next week for larger ones)!

xx

How r u, i have been wearing the pregnancy ones as my ones are too small for me. i feel they have more support and made for what our bodies are going though.
