hey guys,
i am 28+2 weeks pregnant and i just cant seem to get comfortable at all! i currently sleep with two pillows under my increasingly large bump at night as i am having trouble sleeping. Has anyone get any tips on how to get comfortable? i find even lying on the settee during the day is uncomfortable! My poor partner bless him likes to snuggle up at night but i keep pushing him away as its uncomfortable lol

I have a small wedge pillow from mothercare which I find good for under the bump. However nothing is comfortbale for too long. I have a heat pack and get comfortable and then put that on my back and hold it in place with yet more pillows! The heat does help as I have terriible back and hip pain. I think it's our bodies way of repairing us for all those sleepless nights to come! Try lavender on your pillow if you can stand it and a hot milky drink before bed. All I can say is I try and make sure I am on the verge of exhaustion before I actually go to bed so I know I can at least get to sleep!
Good Luck. Donna

this is an awsome question and one after 4 pregnancies i still havn't found an answer for, i tried the pillows trick but found that when i turned over i kept waking up to make sure the pillows were in the right place etc and then i struggled to get back to sleep, i can't seem to sleep too long on one side as that side goes numb and makes my hips ache...ahh the joys of pregnancy.
much love leitia xx

I came on here for advise on sleeping and my questions were already answered. Its good to know it's not just me. Im 31+3 and just lately really struggling to sleep. iv tried pillow under bump, but it doesnt work for me? am i wedging it wrong??? Also, whichever side i lay, the baby start kicking and im scarred im hurting it, iv heard we shouldnt lay on our back, something to do with poor circulation, so i end up sitting up and waiting for the morning. Also, if i do manage to lay down, my hip hurts. Why is this?? Sorry about all the questions, its my 1st baby so its all new. I got the miswife tomorrow so i could ask heer advise, but she makes me feel rushed at the appointments thanks, Vickie xxxx

hi hun i know exactly how you're feeling, i had a little paddy the other night cos i couldn't get comfortable, cant help much with the sleeping cos i've not figured that one yet but during the day i find folding a cushion in half and putting it at the bottom of my back really helps laods... have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your knees, that worked for me a few weeks ago. hope you find a sollution soon, take care x x x

i dont find normal pillows are comfortable got a long sized one from argos, which i find hell more comfortable sleep with at night. shouldnt be lying down overally to much in third trimester if u can help it during the day, unless nap or something. i find going on all four for about 10mins then sitting on sofa more comfortable, or sitting on my birthing ball lol cant think anything else
