Hi Kristy! I have tried to send you a private ssg but I couldnt, dont know why so i have decided to write to you here, hope you dont mind.Sorry for being late with the reply. Are you still missing your period? I have been pregnant only once but I have been making so may home pregnancy tests you have no idea. Many times if my period is late I have been mistaking that I am pregnant but i know that many factors can make your period late like exposure to stress recent travel(changing the climate and food) hormon inbalance and etc. In very early stage of pregnancy there is no claer signs but as the weeks pass by the firt symtoms are frequent urination, breast tendernes, tiridness, mood swings, idslike of some foods and etc. Let me know how it is going for you.' Best wishes and regards from, Ida.

I just looked up some info...
Possible if have a 'chemical pregnancy' - a very early miscarriage, very normal as something like half of all first pregnancies end in miscarriage - normally so early it isn't interpreted as anything more than a late period. But if this is the case, your period should follow soon thereafter.
There is also a possibility that certain fertility treatments can give a false positive if they contain pregnancy hormones.
The other 2 options are reading the test after the stipulated time (is not accurate after 5 mins or whatever) also apparently some tests can leave 'evaporation lines' which might look like a positive preg test, but is actually just a mechanical distortion.
So it is possible, although I agree (aside from a chemical pregnancy) pretty out of the ordinary....
