I had my first scan on the 11th October. they confirmed i was 10+4 weeks. Its just bothering me a little beacuse the measurement came back at 14.1 cm.

I didn't think anything of this but i have a couple of friends who are pregnant and they commented how big it measured and both my sisters were pregnant last year and they've commented how big the baby is measuring and that i'll probably further on then what they think

I'm not worried more curious then anything else.

Has anybody else's baby measured big on their first scan and then the dates changed at a later date?

Ask your midwife hun.

My baby measured 9.7cm. I'm sure the measurement wouldn't be mm because that would make your baby just under 1 and a half cm. Just had a look in my pregnancy bible and it says that at 19 weeks the baby will be between 13-15cm. I think you should ask your midwife what she makes of the measurement.

Is it cms or mm. Probably more like mm, coz at 10 weeks they are like little peanuts!! However, ive now had 6 scan (due to different reasons) and my dates have changed each time. They are now saying my baby is due between the 9th feb to the 25 th Feb! Big difference!
If the measurement is in cms then i should imagine you are more than 10 weeks and the midwife should have said that.

I think i'll just wait and see what they say at my next scan. It was definatley cm and i've compared my scan to my sisters and friends so my measurement was correct.

I have got a cousin that gave borth recently and she measured big at her first scan and then on the second scan they put her forward a month and a half.

So we'll see.

i had a scan yesterday and it measured 30mmand im 1 weeks exactly so that cant be right sure it wasnt 40.1mm? that sounds normal.

Sorry if this sounds bad don't mean iot to, but are you sure it was CM and not MM. Just I had a scan at 8wks and the baby was 13.1MM and at 12wks I had another scan and the baby was 57MM. Just sounds as if they may have said CM instead of MM.

I read another reply and the lady said that at 20wks her baby was only 16.7CM, and baby will grow loads between 10 and 20wks.

at my 20wk scan they measured my baby at 16.7cm. i didnt get a measurement at my 12wk scan. are you sure thats the baby... or is that the sac??

my friend had her scan at 10wks and it didnt really look like a baby.

as for how many weeks you are... i thought i was 11+5wks but i was 11+6wks. so i was only a day out.

if they thought something was up then they would have done further tests.. so try not to worry everything is prob fine.

No they don't scan me again until the 21st December when i will be about 20 weeks

When i went i thought i was 10 + 1 weeks but they changed it by a few days. I too thought this was early as my friend who was scanned at the same hospital a few months before went at 13 weeks. But i think its when they can fit you in. And i could see everything very clearly it was kicking and waving its little arms and legs about.

Did you get a good picture for being 10+1???

I've got my 12 week scan on Nov 16th, by my last period I should be 12+1 then, but I'm worried that I am maybe a week behind that so will just be 11 weeks at the time of the scan. I'm worried because I want a really good picture and if I'm not 12 week will it still look like a baby ????
That sound so silly but at this stage you want something real because you wait so long to get to this point !!!!!!!!

I went for my 12 week scan and they actually dated me at 11 weeks.
We could see the baby clearly, quite big head with little arms and legs but a definite baby shape!
It was actually too early for them to do the checks so we just got a quick picture and were booked in for a nuchal scan 2 weeks later.
We went on saturday [I was 13wks+1] and the baby had really grown and we could clearly see all it's limbs and bones, even its brain! - it was really dancing around as the sonographer was poking my stomach to get the best view for the checks.
It was amazing. Luckily eveything seems fine so I won't need to be seen again till 20 wk scan.

when i had my 20 week scan, my baby measured 15cm head to bottom, so obviously add a few cm onto that for legs, say 5 maybe? the sonographer did say that that was a little bigger than average for my weeks so 14.1 at 10+4 weeks does sound kind of big, but then my midwife said it is quite common to meausre big at one stage and then it even itself out later.
