My periods stopped for a year - I also took a home preg test but when it came back negative, I just kept waiting and then finally went to dr who diagnosed PCOS & related hormone issues, which he managed to sort out.
Don't assume no periods means pregnant (esp if tests don't confirm pregnancy), but don't wait as long as I did to get checked out by a dr! I just kept hoping it would 'start working' again, which I acknowledge now was a bit silly of me....

got my period today feel so relieved! Doctor said based on my hormone results ovaries are still active. had prolactin and male hormone levels taken today get results on friday. doctor is going to refer me to hospital for fertility checks 2. maybe it was stress related. will have to wait and see what fertiity tests show x thanks for your advice

Hi there,
Sorry your test came back negative - fingers crossed everything pans out for you and your hubby.
My friend went through a phase where her breast leaked when she was in her twenties and def not preggers. I think in the end there was a slight hormone imbalance, which when treated cleared up and she hasn't had any probs since.
I hope it all gets sorted,
T x

after all you should know for certain by now anyway. 11 weeks late on your period is a pretty good indicator of pregnancy however you are doing the right thing by confirming it. I must say though, your message gives mixed messages. you say you want to be pregnant but dont seem to have thought about it properly and certainly dont seem 100% sure. anyhow who am i to judge. A leaking breast doesnt automatically suggest pregnancy it can simply be an infection which is easily treated with antibiotics. You should definitly mention this to your gp as s/he will be able to make a proper diagnosis. I am 30 weeks pregnant and to date have noticed no leaking from my breasts whatsoever but were all totally different. a friend of mine cant walk to the shop without having to change her breastpad and she is only 15 weeks pregnant. as i say you are doing the right thing by geting confirmation of your pregnancy and dont worry about how far along you are, your doctor should be able to make a pretty accurate estimate. counting on from the first day of your last period is usually a good indicator of the maximum you could be (just so long as it was a normal, full period and you dont take any forms of oral or implanted contraception). Stop worrying, i know its easier said than done but the help is out there and after all you decided to have sex in the first place so should be prepared to deal with the consequences. XxXxX

hi rach! shame for you, that the test ended up being neg. maybe you're putting yourself under too much stress to become pregnant. that could be a reason why your periods have just decided to stop. the more stress you are experiencing the more the irregularity of your cycle. i don't know of anything thats more sensitive. i know quite a few couple that tried to get pregnant for ages and it just didn't work. what did happen in one or two cases was, that they just gave up trying. about two cycles later both of them were expecting. the docs said it was due to the fact that they just eased the pressure. now thats no guarantee, but maybe a good start.
wishing you all the best twilight
