"Induction using prostaglandin after c section"

Looking for some advice from anyone who has been in simular situation or knows of someone who has.

I am 41 weeks pregnant on Saturday, I had a c section with my first daughter in October 2003 (she was breech), and was hoping for a vaginal delivery this time around. My partner walked out on us when I was 7 weeks pregnant so its just me and my daughter at home and I feel a vaginal delivery would be easier to recover from.

My dilema - my cervix is only just starting to soften, I am booked in on Friday to discuss induction. Should I go for prostaglandin induction if my cervix is still shut. I know there is an increased risk in uterine rupture (about 2.5%)

Have any of you been told your cervix is soft and closed and that suddenly changed?

Have any of you had a vaginal birth after previous section using the induction drug prosaglandins or know anyone who has?

Have any of you known anyone who has experianced a uterine rupture and what the out come was (I do realise this is an emergancy).

Any input greatly received - maybe just maybe my baby will decide they have had enough and decide to be born! - I hope so.

thank you to all who input

Fiona x

I had a ruptured placenta after being induced with my last baby but I did have a low lying placenta. I have been induced previously which went normally. When my placenta ruptured I was rushed immediately for a c-section and we both nearly died. I hope this doesn't scare you. However we are both fine now
