"Empty sac at 8 weeks" Posted by lazza13 17 June at 13:35
Hi honey
Unfortunately, I had the same thing this week - have been trying to get pregnant for way over a year now and just as I started IVF - I found out I was pregannt!!! MIRACLE!!! My 8 week scan was Thursday (just gone) and they found an empty sac, so technically I haven`t miscarried yet - I am having it removed on Thursday (19th). Its the hardest thing I have ever gone through...I`m hoping you have been results than me...

to hear your news - this is a very old thread but wanted to just tell you I know how you feel having had similar myself.
Be brave - it is without dounbt the hardest thing I've ever been through.
May I recommend you visit the girls on the "miscarriage" forum if you haven't already? They were a great source of support to me.

hi a few years ago i found out i was pregnant after over a year of trying i was so excited i even bought clothes and stuff after some cramping i went for a scan the nurses was very nice told meas i hadn,t had any bleeding or anying there was nothing to worry about when the put the scan on i wstold the i had a very large uterus and sac but there was nothing in it they couldn,t understand how my body and every thing kept on thinking there was i still grew i was devasted and had the option of waiting for me to miscarry naturally or have the dc i decided to go with the d&c as body was still acting as though i was pregnant and i hadn't started bleeding or anythink i didn;t want to wait for this agonising process to start it was allfull i even got attmitted in to a mental health ward cause it affected me that much i longed for a child that much . but the good news is after 2 weeks of greiving for a baby that was not there i bounced back and was pregnant again with 3 months i now have a 3 year old and twins at 2 so chin up i know it hurts but it will happen when the time is right good luck dawn

"I am in the same boat!!!" Posted by vie885 10 December at 22:28
I told all my family. My husband and I were very excited and didn't even think of the word miscarriage. I am about 10 weeks from my last period. I was very surpriced when I went for my first ultrasound. After a more profound ultrasound at the radialogist and a hormone count my doctor finaly told me that I had an empty sac. I nearly fainted, and was very confuse. I am trying to be strong and think positive however now I am dealing with having to choose from 3 options: naturally waiting for the the miscarriage to come on its own, taking a pill that would enduce it, but has side effects, or having a D&C which is a surgery to remove everything. I am scare, enough was with the idea that I am not going to have a baby. I feel what your going thorogh. Just hang in there and I will pray for you to. This is just a test from God to see how strong we are. Cheer Up!!!

Hello I was pregnant last year and was so excited I told everyone I thought I was atleast 12 weeks,I went up for my scan at the hospital and I was really excited sitting there with my boyfriend waiting to see the first pic of my baby and they told me that the sac was empty, They told me not to worry to much as I might just not be as far on as I thought I was, So although I wasnt happy about not seeing anything and I didnt worry to much as I thought they were right..They told me to come back in 2 weeks for another scan so I did and it was still the same only the Sac was alittle bigger..They called it a missed abortion or something and I had to go in a few days later to get it removed. It was awful

"Empty sac" Posted by sunnydown 22 November at 23:12
Hi - I had a 6.5 week scan today and the dr said I was a puzzle. Pregnancy tests indicate positive, and one taken today also does, but at 6.5 weeks the sac is empty - and doctor has said it might be ectopic and i must have appropriate blood tests to determine the outcome. I have to say I am not optimistic but yet there is always a small chance that perhaps that the baby is very slow in developing - so I never give up hope - but then this could be a cause for concern too. I hope for a healthy pregnancy but I have had a lot of bad luck ..... I have to speak to the consultant tomorrow. I don't want to be doom and gloom because it would be the best news ever, but I try to keep my feet on the ground until positive news comes my way ..... XXXXXX

"Hi" Posted by pinkfluffyheels 16 November at 17:06
i am just 7 weeks pregnant, i went for a scan a couple of days ago and there was a heartbeat, sometimes they dont detect it for a while tho.... from what i have read miscarriage is not always accompanied by pain or bleeding, there is something known as a silent miscarriage which is basically exactly what is says and the baby just basically dies with no warning. i hope this is not the case for u, let me know how u get on best of luck
