| Thread started by: | "Advise please, pregnant after miscarriage!" Posted by lisa28275 13 December at 18:12
Hi, I'm new to this site but in desperate need of some advise. Lost my last pregnancy at 6 weeks, only 5 weeks ago. Now I am pregnant again, without any time in between, and absolutely terrified of a repeat. Anybody else in the same situation? I do feel a bit better about things this time though and trying to think positive, but just really scared. I have carried a healty child before and had an ideal pregnancy so no reason to think anything more serious is wrong, but having miscarried so recently it is clearly on my mind. I think I've taken about 5 pregnancy tests this week just to make sure, I am so paranoid!! Any words of wisdom gratefully received, and fingers crossed for this pregnancy!!
Lol

hi guys thanks so much for the words of encouragement and support. it's only a day later than my original post, but everything so good so far and I am just taking things one day at a time. feeling pretty good and my boobs are getting fuller today which i'm taking as a good sign, although still checking my knickers for blood everytime i need to pee, but i think it will take a while for that fear to fade. still feel like i wanna do another test just to make sure i'm not imagining it, and i dont think i will fully believe it until i've seen a scan. trying to get in docs next week and hopefully get an early scan after m/c to put my mind at rest. let u know when there is news!
good luck everybody, anybody else due end of august 08? lol x

I was in the same boat in september after my mc in august, i felt the same with this pregnancy, felt more positive bout this one. I was so scared it happened again, that i only told nicks mum and dad when we first found out, never told mine til about 2 weeks later as they were going away for weekend and didnt want them to worry about it happening again. I had to have a scan at 5+4 (11pm) coz they thought i had etopic pregnancy and i was so nervous about it that the sonographer allowed my mother in law in with nick and me and showed everything ok and seen the heartbeat. Coz the mc was so recent, its hard not to worry but just remeber, there's a one in four chance of it happening again (which it wont, positive thinking) which is the same for the women who havent had a mc. Keep the positive thinking going and think both zoe and i have been in same boat and we are having healthy pregnancys and the same WILL happen to you. Take Care PM me anytime. Lis 17+4

I didnt catch straight after my mc's but I was still scared to death. My last mc was in July and I found out I was pregnant again in October. Like you I felt different this time, the pregnancy felt safe.
There arent really any words of wisdom, just to trust your body. Try and relax (impossible I know) but I found that after Id got used to the idea, I just chilled out, and when my symptoms kicked in they were daily reassurance that things were going well.
2 of my friends caught straight after mc with no period between and both are having a healthy pegnancy. One is due to have hers in January, so just because you had a mc so recently, it doesnt mean it's going to happen again.
Lots of luck and congratulations.

Hi there,
This is my 2nd pregnancy, I had a misscarriage Nov 2006, did fall pregnant again straight away, but I did in Aug. When I was pregnant last year I honestly have to say it didnt feel right (being my 1st I wasnt sure, but deep down knew something wasnt right). When I found out I was pregnant again it all seemed so different, better, than before. I'm now 20wk+4days and all seems to be going well. Had a few kicks, small ones but they are there.
We found out Monday its a girl!! I'm so excited, its taking my partner a bit longer to get over the fact he'll have a daughter and not a son, but he is getting there.
Hope all goes well for you this time around, I'm sure it will and you have nothing to worry about, its just those pregnancy hormones again!
Take Care
Zoe and 20wk + 4day pink bump
