I'm nearly 38 weeks and have had really swollen feet. It was worse when I was still working and sitting at a desk. All you can do is try and walk around and elevate your feet when possible. It's a real drag but have found that since I stopped work it's not half as bad so there may be hope!

I wouldn't take water tablets unless you are really uncomfortable and the GP says it's ok. Explain to work you need regular breaks to have a wander about and see how it goes. When do you stop working?

Good luck.

my calfs, ankles and feet are so swollen too. i hate it cos they look so awful. ive been told that has soon as babies born it goes down.
sorry cant help you on reducing it... i have had it since bout 30wks but my hands/wrists and my face is slightly swollen too... but i have been having pre eclamsia signs (havent got it yet tho).

i did find wearing some hugg boots makes it more comfortable tho. check with the doctor first bout the water retention tablets cos im not sure if you can take them.

take care

I had this last time from about 30 weeks and in the end it got so bad that it looked like I had collagen in my lips - even my nose got fat!

I hated it and the heat made it much worse (he was a July baby!) so be thankful that's so cold because I think heat makes it worse. I remember my feet and ankles looking like my nan's!! lol

I laugh about it now but it was horrible. I was a size 4 shoe and had to wear flip flops (luckily it was summer) and they were my mums who is a size 6 to 7!!

Why do we do this eh! haha

BUT there is hope. It does go when you give birth. Literally within a day or so, my face went down first and then my hands, ankles and feet. I can't remember my calves being big, I just thought that was because I'd put on so much weight! Apparently if you suffer with it, you're more likely to get it again! Great, I'm due at the end of July this time, lets hope we have a pants summer (sorry everyone but I'm gonna be selfish just for once!).

Good luck everyone. Keep your legs raised and drink lots of water.
