i felt like i needed to empty my bowels every hour towards the end of my pregnancy too. its just your body clearing itself out ready for labour.

take care and good luck with the birth.

Certainly not a daft question. I have been having loads of bowel movements this week. I am really pleased about this cause I suffer terrible constipation when not pregnant due to a bowel condition and its been worse while pregnant.

I understand that its the bodys way of cleaning itself out before birth so I would say it looks promising.

I had my last baby at 36 weeks and 4 days and he is a very healthy 2 year old so don't worry. Any baby born 37 + weeks are considered full term anyway.

Hayley 37 + 5 and hoping for an induction next week!

heya Karen hun,

the reason your having so many bowel movements is that your body tends to want to clear it's self out in the run up to labour, as the baby comes down the birth canal it pushes on your bowels and therefore you need to poop more, so get clearing out it's perfectly normal hun.

again the braxton hicks are your bodies way of preparing you for labour, use the contractions to practice your breathing technique (even if there is no pain).

good luck with it all hunni and please let us know how it all goes, i was 36 weeks when i had my first 2 babies, my 3rd was born at 37 weeks, and all 3 of them are fit and strong.
anyway take care hun
much love
Leitia xx
