Just can't contain the excitement and shock of a scan I had today. We decided 13 weeks was just too long off to see how our baby was doing. Decided on paying for a private dating scan which was £70 at a clinic in Preston. Absolutely fantastic place, the sonographer asked how far gone I thought I was and I explained just 8 weeks and I just wanted to know if there was a heartbeat really. As soon as the baby appeared I was quite amazed how much it really looked like a baby and not like a tadpole!! Then she said I was more like 12 weeks. I totally didn't get it as the first day of LMP was 12th Nov. But she said some women do have a AF early on. I was feeling quite large for 8 weeks now that explains it. My advice to anyone is to get a private scan done if you feel anything isn't adding up because if I had waited baby's first scan with NHS would have been at 16 weeks!! I would have missed out on the vital tests etc!! XX

What a lovely surprise that was for you! You must just be delighed! Just goes to show that you can never be too sure, you would have thought for defs that the date going by the last AF would have been spot on!

awww congrads, im just over 10weeks. i had a bit of a scare last week when i started bleedin so i was sent for an early scan (viginal scan). i was spot on with the dates and me and the baba are fine. the scan is so much clearer and i saw alot, the baba even started dancin around for me such a good feelin. i never knew you could pay for a early scan.just excited and wanted to share my newz. hope everytin goes well for you
