I've had a section and it is not that bad you cannot feel them in there some ppl have said you can feel a pressure but they are pretty fast at doing the c-section they are in and out in no time. I have spoke to some ppl who have been knocked right out and missed out on the first half hour of their babies life till they came too this can be quite upsetting later on. I hate blood and guts I'm a total wimp and if i can do it you'll be ok also I'm having my second section in September xxx

You have same measurements as my mum. She had us 3 all vaginally and we were all around 7 anda half pounds. Good luck

i'm only tiny 4 ft 11 and had both my babaies vaginally when i had my first i was a size 4 and only 16 years old. with my second iwas size 4/6. i didnt have any probs but it was mentioned that i may have to have section if baby was 8lbs or more and that i wouldnt carry past 28- 34 weeks at most because my body wouldnt be able to cope with the strain of carrying a baby, but i went over with both 42wks with 1st 40+3 with 2nd
is it the midwife that told you to have an elective?

no the doctor didnt tell me he just suggested, but its the same doc that my mam had when she was pregnant and shes the same size as me and had to have a section,my other half is quite big hes 6 foot 2 and well built and he was about 8lbs 9oz at birth i dont know if that has anything to do with anything tho. i found out apprently the shoesize/hight thing is to do with how wide your hips are, i so dont have any hips they are non existant lol its a long way off yet but its freekin me out abit defo one to ask mw next time.

By no means i am an expert (as i haven't had mine yet), but i asked some of these questions to my MW.

I am having a section due to having identical twins and the risk is higher for a natural birth. I am also small, but never heard of that-only that a friend of mine had to have one as she had small hips (she was also small).

You can have a general or local Anaesthetic, but generally you are awake, and a screen is put up so you won't feel anything or see anything. Once the baby is out, then you are stitched up. You 'may' also have a longer stay in hospital so they can check your stitches and you have to be very careful not to lift/drive etc for 6 weeks.

Hope that helps and reassures you a bit!

Good luck

Michelle (pg with id twin girls-30 weeks)
