"No morning sickness???"
Posted by supergirl1980 19 December  at  12:01

I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and have had some of the symptoms - tiredness, sore breasts etc, but the one thing missing is any form of morning sickess. I have had occasional wave of nausea (only 2 or 3 times)but only brought on by strong smells. I have heard that morning sickness is the sign of a healthy baby and so am quite worried.

Is it too early for me to feel morning sickness or is my lack of it something to worry about?

"No morning sickness"

Hi, I have just read your message I am in my sixth week of pregnancy
and I have no morning sickness. Im so worried, as just before christmas I had a missed-miscarriage. I knew something was wrong at the time as I went from feeling very sick one day to feeling completely normal the next. We lost the baby @ around 8 weeks, but did not realise until we went for a scan @ 12 weeks. So I am really worried something is wrong. Apart from not sleeping very well and feeling very tired - I am feeling totally normal.

I have two other children, when I was pregnant with them I was feeling very sick from 5 weeks onwards.

I would like to hear from anyone who feels the same.

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my fourth and have had no moring sickness only tiredness and tender breasts - I am also a bit worried as I had a lot of morning sickness with my first 3.
I have made an appointment with my doctor next week to put my mind at rest!
"I'm 26 weeks and had none!"

I am 26 weeks and had no morning sickness apart from the waves of nausea you mention. This was from around 8 weeks for about a month or so.
Similarly to you it was brought on by strong smells or thoughts of particular food. I have been told that my baby is healthy and is growing very well!

Hi,

I am now 23 weeks pregnant and didnt have any morning sickness until the day I was 12 weeks. All the books tell you that sickness should abate at 3 mths but mine started. Dont be too keen to be sick as I spoke too soon!!!!

Good luck and congratulations
"6 weeks no sickness"

Hi all,
I am just 6 weeks pregnant and aswell as some other people i havent had any sick feeling as such yet,but very very tired and very sore boobs! With my first baby i felt sick more or less from day 1 so i guess we tend to worry that things are so different but i have read up alot on women saying how different each pregnancy is.My friend was sick for 5 months non stop with her first baby but with her second she had no sickness at all and sailed through it!! Well good luck everyone and i wish you all the most happiness for your futures!

you lucky thing , from finding out i was pregnant to giving birth i was ill i get a rare form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum , where i cant keep nothink at all down not even water, i had to take promethazine tablets last time round, the midwife told me the more you vomit the stronger the pregnancy . that wasent any relief thought , just enjoy not having your head hanging in the toilet bowl xxxxxxxxx.

I am 6 weeks and no sign of morning sickness...I hope all is ok! I'm very tired though with tender breasts. Seeing Dr on Monday so will ask her...

[Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing myself any favours, by reading these threads as I'm sure they can also make one slighly more paranoid than normal - everyone is different!]
"Threads are making me paranoid"
Posted by wessie1 23 January at 15:28

i am also 6wks and no symptoms in sight normally i would not worry because who wants to be throwing up all day and nights anyways. However reading these threads about miscarriages and complications has got me real paranoid and thinking the worse. I just leave everything in God hands and pray that my baby is okay with no morning sickness and all.
"Same here"

I'm supposed to be 9 weeks, and I've been giving myself panic attacks over worries like this. I haven't been too sick but I've lost ten pounds. I haven't thrown up except once on Christmas, I blame in-laws food. Other than that I'll gag when my hubby fries food, ew, or brushing my teeth. I've been told not to worry that everyone's different but it feels impossible.

Oh, and there are days when I don't feel pregnant at all, where my breasts aren't even sore... It's scary.

yup im 9 weeks too and i too sometimes gag when brushing my teeth, and certain food smells makes me feel a little sick, i dont know if its morning sickness or not, sometimes it feels more like hunger sickness!!!!
and yes sometimes i dont feel pregnant at all!!!
"Me too!"

I logged on specifically to see if having no morning sickness was a sign that something was wrong... I'm about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant and have had no sickness at all. Also, I'm getting days where I have no symptoms at all - although my breasts are sore most of the time. I even did another pregnancy test this morning (that makes four now) to double, double check!

I had a bad cold all over Christmas and I wondered if the lack of sickness was because I didn't get the real sensitivity to smell and so didn't react. I know that makes no sense!

"Double, double check!"
Posted by trishcarter 14 January at 20:28

No, that makes sense, like since you were all plugged up you didn't get to notice the transition of strength of smells. That's probably all it is. My sister's a nurse and she said if you're not having symptoms be super thankful and that if something bad did happen you'd know without a doubt. I worry about missed abortion but there's no point in worrying it doen't help at all.

let me know how you feel after you see your ob/gyn and congratulations
